Who here has been married and if so, why did you get divorced? What do you think the reason is for the marriage failing?


Just curious.....trying to get a common factor as to why divorces happen!!

Could it be as simple as we all want our own way and when we do
not get it we fall out of love. Or we marry because we are afraid to be alone.

Happily married (Or so I thought ) for 9 years with three kids, then I found out she was screwing my so called best friend.

Oh the "M" word....Well I have been married twice, 5 yrs. the first go around, and 12 the 2nd.
I have always seem to attract, and have been attracted to so called "bad boys". The problem was both took the term literally.
They both drank way too much, and would get giant attitudes when they did. If there wasn't a guy to fight around..well then I would just have to do. The reason why I stayed so long both times, is I have a huge heart, and loved them, and honestly thought I could help, and change them. Wrong answer!!!You can never try to change anyone that doesn't want to change themselves.
I still like badboys, but have come to my senses about marying them!!

Hey, blond ours were pretty close. We was married four years the first time then took a five year sabbatical and then married 13 years the second time. We fell out of lust first time. Second time we fell out of love. Third marriage was really nice to a different person. We were actually friends. I always get a kick out of reading the Old Testament where it talks about the begats. I love how it says about the men, "And he knew his wife". That just cracks me up.

Is there a difference between 'dating a long time' and a 'long engagement'?

I agree. You need to be good friends in a marriage for it to survive...After all, who wants to be married to someone u really can't talk to or enjoy your time with?
