Yes newstart, that is so true. The ironic thing about my relationships is the one guy that i had known all my life as friends, and turned into love died unexpectadely a few years ago. Never have felt so much pain in my entire life. It does get easier, but the pain will always be there.

Rockermom, yes the pain is there always, coping gets easier with time. I was married for 32 yrs, Even wedding vows say tho Till death us do part.... How many really listen to that?

Good point, new. Till death do us part. I had to find out that means one of us as well as it means both of us. With a divorce one has the option to eventually remarry if both parties can come to an agreement but with death that option is not there any more. Death is more permanent than divorce. Sorry for your loss, new.

Divorce and death....though different..........you do go through the same emotions. I think it would have been easier for me if my ex died.....I know that sounds terrible, but I am terrible!!!! <-----says "Youre Terrible Muriel" in best "Muriels wedding" voice!!!

In either event divorce or death you become single again. Physically single that is. Mentally single and emotionally single might take some time.
