Glen..............
if that is how you really feel....believe.....then you are adding straws to the camels back..... quit talking out your ass just for the sake of provocation.... how dare you speak for the gay population and profess to know their motives for wanting equal human rights |

But this should be also kept in mind I guess.
no where in the constitution, article of confederation, or declaration of independence will you find any law about marriage, whether it be man and woman or otherwise. so now the question is I guess that we should put it in the constitution. can we also put english is the official language too? are there any others we want to add to this wish list? |

and for the record.... married people do not have such financial benefits as you lay claim.... in fact it is cheaper to remain single.... if you really look at it.
and how do i know?? because my Daughter is in a relationship with her female partner/lover for 11 years and they have seriously been active in this subject. so now let's see you do some different cut and paste...homework |

i guess one could argue to the supreme court that TITLE 1 CHAPTER 1 of US code 7 is unconstitutional because it violates the 9th admendment(even tho certain rights are not defined) and that TITLE 28 PART V CHAPTER 115 of US Code 1738C should be stricten due to the conflict of law between the two codes.

What I said Doc was that if you let one state make same sex marriage legal, without a constitution amendment other states do not have to honor the legality of the marriage!
To make all states honor a same sex marriage made legal in one state, according to the "Tenth amendment of the constitution," it would have to be dealt with as a Constitutional change! This means it would have to be made law by Congress first, and so far the consensus is for an amendment making same sex marriage unconstitutional. Without making it another thing that congress passes against the majority's wishes it will stay that way! If it was left alone for a few years longer opinions would probably change, but it is being forced to the front now by the gay population and this impatience could come back to bite them in the ass! Many do see it as a moral issue, I really dont care! To see two men kissing in public tends to turn my stomach. Is it because its an unnatural act or something ingrained by the society we live in? I really dont know, but IMO it is further proof that it is something trying to be forced on the masses way too fast! Alex, As far as the benefits of being married being passed on to same sex marriages, I never claimed they were. As a matter of fact I said I realized this was the major driving force for the gay population to change the laws! It might help if you would read a post before going off on an emotionally charged rant! |

OMG, this is such a tiring subject for me.
Who has the right to tell another who they can love? Enough said. I will not rant on the subject. |

the underlying issue is what is important it is the govt dictating (hhhmmmmmm dictating) how the population can or can not live it is using religious doctrine to set law which is not supposed to happen but yes it does get to be a tiring fight to keep the rights of the people and the people have already lost a lot of their rights for a FALSE since of security |

This issue is only tiring because it is such an idiotic thing to upset oneself over...
I will never understand why people care who is sleeping with someone that they are not sleeping with... I only care if it directly involves me... Not to say I'm not happy for a friend if they get "lucky"... Sorry, too much sun... to be serious... Redy: Re: "Can you still question why, we are so "in your face" about these issues? We need the support of those who accept, understand and agree with our plight. We need that support, because, alone, we are not a majority. Our greatest foes are the religious organizations, and THEY ARE ORGANIZED and their's is the vote against that is in the majority... if you want to support and uphold the value of equality in this country, go to HRC.ORG and ask to be placed on a email list. " You are right to remind me that it is not enough to say that I don't care who sleeps with whom... I have to say, "I care that some people are being discriminated against and it is wrong. I will do what I can to make sure that all people have equal rights." Thanks. |

One more thing I don't understand (there are so many).
I have heard the argument many times that, "Gay marriage threatens the validity of man-woman marriage." How? How does another choice invalidate yours? |

Heres my opinion on the courts shoving their noses into our private lives. Thats just WRONG. Whats the big deal about gay marriage? I dont really care if gays want to marry and for sure many gay couples have been together LONGER than alot of straight couples i know. Our constitution clearly states we as people are to be free from government INTERFERRENCE in our private lives and we should ENJOY this freedom.
Just because a person is gay this means they CANNOT enjoy the same CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS?? PFFFFFFFFFFFFT!!!! I SAY WTF!! Lets face it ya'll!!! DIVORCE LAWYERS would LOVE all the extra money earned from gay divorces, the JUDGES would LOVE all the extra DRAMA in the KANGAROO COURTS and so would all the court clerks and employees. Its a WIN WIN SITUATION for the LEGAL SYSTEM. Let them marry. Its their RIGHT. |
