I'd kill for intelligent conversation.....

Hmm, I would expect him to be sweet and respectful for who I am and for what I value, even though I do not expect him to uphold the same values as me, at least he should respect that I do.

Well, I would at least expect him to show affection for me, it is easy to take someone out for a drink but it would be cruel to lead a girl on and when you take her out not to show her any kind of affection during the date.

of course I hold old school values even though they do seem rather outdated in this modern day, I do have however a faint hope that the guy would have the strength to actually pay for the drinks.

If he makes me pay for them then he better be a hell of a good kisser! :D

Of course I do expect to be able to have an actual conversation with him, nothing is as terrible as to sit at a table and simply stare at one another....

I except her to be both the person in the pic and the personality in the words and voice. I except her to let me know that I am what and who she has been looking for as soon as she knows in her heart. And I except her to show me she wants me and only me for life.

My last date involved a guy taking me out for a steak dinner. Expected to have a nice meal, some intelligent conversation. Until he spit his teeth out on the table and informed me that he didn't eat with them in. Do you know how hard it is to try to have an intelligent conversation while there's a set of teeth on the table staring at you? The dude looked like the cow before it hit my plate when he was gumming his steak to death!

Needless to say there was no second date and I have learned to expect the unexpected now.

To answer the question, I wouldn't expect but I'd simply want it to go well enough that we'd both want to see each other again. And that he doesn't spit his teeth out. That'd be a good start.

This is funny! I think you may have something there. What we would like to expect and what we actually get could be like us expecting to go to the Moon, but actually getting to go to Pluto. I think maybe I should be at least semi-content to actually meet an honest to goodness verifiably human flesh and blood person. Living in an imaginary perfect world may not be the best. If that's the case, maybe we should all volunteer for some new scientific virtual reality dream state study and get paid for it as well.
