Topic: Any good oral treatment for dogs ? | |
---|---|
Hey guys
I adopted a little pinscher around 6 months ago and i have tried a lot to get is mouth to become "normal" again . When i got him , i noticed the previous owners did not take care at all of his oral hygiene , his teeth are yellowish almost black and he lost a few , i tried dental bones and water treatment , i did not notice a major change so im out of resources. |

Get him to a vet immediately! He may have to have the rest of his teeth pulled. If this continues, he may develop severe health problems which can affect his heart, so don't wait. Have them do testing on his heart also. Left untreated it could cause death if not treated. Hope he will be okay. I had this done with both my dogs. Caught it in time. Best wishes, hope he will be okay.

If it turns out that it is a cleaning situation make sure the vet gives you an antibotic for the dog for a minimum of 5 to 7 days. The cleaning is traumatic and the dog is put under for it. There is a danger of infection because they have to go into the gumline to get rid of the plaque. Once everything is Ok a yearly cleaning is not a bad idea along with crunchy treats. Things like rawhide chews for mall dogs or the stick like treats. Most anything crunchy will help. Not sure about the water thing I haven't read anything other than the ads. Of course they are always truthful.
