i watched something last night that said the administration was told by the CIA that hussein didn't have anything to do with it but they used that because they had already been planning something to do with iraq and this gave them an excuse.

no kidding. it's crazy how people continue to just eat up everything that the government tells them....very frustrating at times.

Popular theory has it that Bust & Co were planning an invasion of Iraq since the first month Bush took office. I don't think they planned 9/11. But they wasted no time working Iraq into the mix, didn't they?

If anything, the link between Saddam and Al Qaeda has been downplayed. They did have a working relationship and did cross training. Saddam also had a 747 that was used by Al Qaeda to practice for hijacking airplanes.

i don't think it has been downplayed at all. i made a post about this some time ago. saddam has had contact with terrorist organizations in the past but had not had contact with any(including al queda)a couple years prior to 9/11. i read a report that said at one point a couple years ago saddam found out al queda had set up a training facility in iraq and when saddam found out about it he told them to leave.
there is no denying that saddam has had links to terrorists in the past but prior to 9/11 there was no activity in his country and saddam had no links to the operations of 9/11.

Okay I'm going to throw my hat into the ring-howbeit I may be poorly equipped to know "the rest of the story" as Paul Harvey often quoted; but here goes= Why in fact was the little known "Patriot Act" activated in such haste- as from what I've researched -was in the works one week prior to the tragedy?
