World renowned scientist, Lynn Margulis, Ph.D., today severely criticized the official account of 9/11 and called for a new investigation, "I suggest that those of us aware and concerned demand that the glaringly erroneous official account of 9/11 be dismissed as a fraud and a new, thorough, and impartial investigation be undertaken."

I don't see how 9/11 could have been an "inside job". Here's why:

Think of the sheer number of people who'd have had to been "in the know". Can you imagine EVERY one of those people keeping their mouths shut? No way.At almost six years later, SOMEONE would have cracked. Hell, if your workplaces are anything like mine, you'd know that nothing stays secret very long. No way it's a cover-up. Everyone here knows my feelings towards the Bush Administration, but there's no way I'd even think about pinning this on him.

But, Davinci, wouldn't something like that require the assistance of quite a number of people from outside the military? Those are the ones you couldn't trust to keep a secret. I mean, it's possible, but to me, the number of non-military personnel involved would have to be great. All it would take to bring the house down is one disgrunteled person.

actually I'm casting satirical light on those that cannot fathom such a thing...do I believe
that a group of radicals in caves in aphganistan shut down the most sophisticated defense
network in the world...and hijacked planes with boxcutters ...and that the only skyscrapers (and one other building) ever in history to be brought down because of fuel fire..happened on the same day within hours if not minutes of each other?.....the conspiracy theory is the governments explanation...

9/11 was in no way a conspiracy but the government did have a hidden agenda on iraq.

DaVinci, your convoluted response was not an answer at all. It was an unanswered question followed by a peculiar comment (that the conspiracy was the government's explanation). The conspiracy theories are generally that the gov't did it itself, while the generally accepted theory that it was done by AlQaeda , is the gov't position and usually not referred to as a conspiracy theory.

I'm not interested in a debate about who or what caused it. I'm just trying to get an understanding of what you are saying. As for knowing my position well on the matter, I've never spent a lot of time on here discussing it. I simply take the average position that it most likely was just what it seemed to be. The alternative that some peculiar group of American zealots staged it to promote war is, in my opinion, somewhat unlikely. But that's just because I have a little better view of humanity in its American form, which does not mean my confidence is warranted, just that it is my belief.

I am a little puzzled by the twists of thought I would have to go through to conclude that it was not AlQaeda that staged 911.
