hello. welcome here. I know it used to be that you could turn your chat off on here. which probably most do i am only assuming. so some you may be able to chat with while othere that have their chat turned off there will be no button. the main reason people do this is you get a lot of unwanted people instant messaging <or chat> with you. if you email that person perhaps they can turn it on for you. its under your settings tab when you go to your account. i beleive. hope that helps you. or hope i am right lol!!! good luck
