In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul tells us that the Holy Spirit gives different spiritual gifts to whomever God wants to have them. Paul explains that not every believer is given the same gift. So, it contradicts Paul's teaching to insist that every Christian speak in tongues. Indeed, in 1 Corinthians 14, Paul says that he would prefer that every believer engage in forth-telling instead of speaking in tongues. Again, Paul says that a person who speaks in tongues is speaking to God, and speaking to God is what we call "prayer". That is one way you can tell whether or not tongues are divine in origin. If the interpretation of tongues is a prayer to God, then the tongues may be divine in origin. However, if the interpretation is an alleged "message from God", then either the tongues or the interpretation are not divine in origin. How does this come into play then? 1 Thess 5:16-22 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing , 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. NKJV 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 says nothing about tongues. However, the verse says to test things, which is what I have suggested. |

I would watch what I say ias proof. I have many friends who are from Assembly of god. They believe it and my friends are very good people. To call someone a Heretic then you must look in the mirror 1st. all of you call yourself Christian. by that very name being called by the majority of believers you put yourself in the same situation as those you call such names. The disciples are never recorded as calling themselves Christians so by your own logic you are a HERETIC.. huh Let me get this straight for clarification, if someone exposes a heresy in the church they are heretics themselves. BUT If many GOOD PEOPLE believe the heresy to be true, then they are not heretics. If that's logic them I am a mokeys uncle. So according to you the majority rules not scriptural application. |

I think someone speaking gibberish or speaking in tongues, (if it is not faked,) is really a creepy kind of possession. By what, I have no idea. Something from the subconscious field perhaps. Spirits or demons perhaps.
Even though I do read tarot cards, I don't use the Ouija board. When used with certain people it can do weird things. It simply does not work for me unless I am using it with one of those people. Mainstream religions and some occultists have associated use of a Ouija board with the concept of demonic possession, and view the use of the board as a spiritual threat and have cautioned their followers not to use an Ouija board. I tend to agree that it should not be used. |

Me too. Tarot is very different that a ouija board. I read Tarot for people all the time. I have no success with a ouija board by myself but have had a couple yucky experiences with using it with creepy people. Harmful energies attract harmful energies. I don't conjure either. I have a hard enough dealing with the freaks already on this planet. I don't need more hanging around. |

What is the difference in Prayer without ceasing and Tongues which you see as Prayer? |

What I am saying is before you accuse someone else of being a Heretic. You should realize their are plenty of things that can be shown with proof you are practicing/following false spirits. That can be shown to be demons..If you want to go their. |

In Acts 2 everyone heard unlearned men speak in their native language. Paul spoke of it as if Tongues was being used like it is today. Proof of the Holy Spirit. NKJV Do we not put the old man behind us? Do we not change and begin to speak in a new tongue? as the spirit gives us utterance? Do people even today when you speak scripture in your life. You are living your faith. Are you not speaking in an unknown tongue to all those who do not believe? They may even say " Are you drunk or what?" or " what kind of drugs are you on?" |

Yes, in Act 2, when the disciples spoke in tongues, they spoke in human languages that they did not previously know how to speak. |

I do know that Mark 13:32 and Matthew 24:36 show that jesus isn't god.
Yet of course some christians will type other verses that show it differently then that shows there's contradictions in the bible. |

Yet of course some christians will type other verses that show it differently then that shows there's contradictions in the bible. Thiers a difference between Him and His Father. He always said he was the son and did nothing that he was not told. He said you could Blaspheme him but not the Holy Spirit. Which I believe comes from his Father Yahweh Yahweh is 1 and always has been. |

Well,another Mystery for Science! |

There are a couple of churches in my town that I believe speak in tongues and dance around and they seem to be pretty tight lipped about it. The preacher is not at all friendly or approachable. I know there was a church around here at one time that performed self mutilation and the people would beat themselves up until they were bloody. I think some of these churches still exist in Colorado.
I think some of these practices are totally weird and creepy. |

The Ark Brought to Jerusalem 12And it was told king David, saying, The LORD has blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertains to him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness. 13And it was so, that when they that bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatted calves. 14And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. 2 Samuel 6:14 |
