I write
In attempt to block
The painful heartache
Caused by your absence
Wanting nothing more
Than to hear you

To know your on the other end
And will be for years to come
Realizing wishful thinking
Will do no good
I put the pen to paper
Pouring out my soul
As if to somehow
Escape the horrid truth
You mean the world to me
So the least I can do
Is write
In your honor
So that one day
The world will know
