If you meet someone and they give you their number? How long do you wait until you call?

one day tops. The same night if possible.

I try to call within two days. depends what is up at that time, and how much interest i may have too.

no gaming on my part, I just create time and call her. Sometimes its sooner, a few times later, but so many other details missing here. So asap. that sound better...

I have a coffee table littered with scraps of paper, etc. with phone numbers and no name, so if you gave it to me, you'll be waiting a long long time.

Oh, well there is the problem. I am not much of a sitter or fit the stereotype in every way. I am always doing stuff, so if she wants to join me cool, if not, someone else will.

I was told by more than one that the best time to call is the middle of the week. So the time delay would depend upon when the number was given. Many are busy on weekends so the middle of the week makes some sense. In my history, it seems to work.

Yes thats right as far as making a date for the weekend, its considered rude or a fopue' to call later than
Wednesday for a date on a friday.

I call or txt before they leave my side , because I would feel pretty stupid if I waited a day and

My question is this...why is there a waiting period? Is it so you won't look desperate or something? My point is do you really think that person is going to sit around and wait for you to call? If they get a chance to go out with someone else, they won't be sitting home waiting for your call!
I myself, would never call a man. IF they can not call me...then we would never talk again. I am really strange about giving out my phone number too. I had a stalker for over 2 years and it was terrifying so not to many people have my number. If a strange guy came up and asked me for number, I probably would not give it to them. If he wanted to give me his...I might call him and block my number BUT I don't even know if I would do that!!
My point is....STOP PUTTING A TIME LIMIT ON WHEN YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO CALL SOMEONE, JUST CALL THEM AND LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE INTERESTED! STOP PLAYING GAMES!!!

See this goes back (for me) to a lot of these threads about dating games that I see as a little on the imature side of things. I read this stuff and have to check my date of birth again to see if I have missed something by 30 years or so. If someone is 20ish I can see why these types of things are still on their minds but do people over their teens really operate this way?

usually I don't unless I am interested. Generally I prefer he call but I don't give him my number unless I am interested, and my phone is almost always on silent now so I have to adjust to keep from appearing rude.

I don't give my number easily, but by the time I do, I end up making them hate me for never being available to talk or text with them because I'm on my phone on business most the day...and night.

right I am also on the phone all day so I really prefer other means of communication outside of work and make most calls (personal calls) pretty short
