Anyways back to my topic... You have a healthy personality to the degree that you do not let the thoughts in someone else's head affect the way you live your life. Lol

Being an extrovert, but not to extremes.

Being conscientiousness, but without anxiety.

Being open minded, but without being wishy washy.

And being mentally stable, without being NOT mentally stable.

"And being mentally stable, without being NOT mentally stable. "
You mean that it is actually possible???
I try so hard and it still shows through, doesn't it! It's hard always being in a condition unfit to be misunderstood..it really is, you know!

Understanding and accepting that men and women are more alike than different.

Understanding and accepting that not everyone has to think exactly the same way.

Understanding and accepting that not everyone will like you -- and not letting this fact upset you.

Knowing how to navigate the world of human interactions in such a way as to avoid insulting or aggravating people unnecessarily.

Understanding that it is rarely necessary to insult and aggravate people.

Having balance in one's life, in all things.

Understanding both the means of and the need for diplomacy.

A firm grasp on the idea that no one is perfect, not even oneself.

A willingness to learn something new every day.

whether someone is intoverted or extroverted has little bearing. But to start, earnestness is a good sign along with the ability to listen. A desire to "do the least, or no, harm"

game players, and those who manipulate are the least healthy. those who forsake others & do great harm to others, family, friends, our land/planet for financial gain/power

lack of emotional attachment is perhaps the identifiable common trait of the least healthy in psychological terms

after that a profound lack of remorse

there - that's a A+ paper, n'est pas? next question please.

I think the degree of control that we feel we have is in direct proportion to the amount of mental health that we have.
In other words, we feel good about ourselves to the exact degree to which we feel we are in control of our lives.

Forgiveness is the true measure of mental health.

Assuming one exists, I'd say the closest you get is a happy personality.

Of course, basing mental health concerns on a rough sketch of a personality isn't exactly the best method to pick and choose.

Ted Bundy had a very good personality, upbeat, good tempo...Killed a lot of prostitutes, jumped out of a court library window before his trial...A trial that he defended himself in. Even the judge complimented him on his good stature; terrible character, but s*, you'd be hard up to know.

I think we should get a better grasp on personalities before we start shunning people based off perceived traits.

you make a good point. most of us are not going to be qualified to judge other's mental health to determine if a persoanlity disorder exists.

there are cases of charmers who turn out to be horrors- ted bundy - charles manson - they "lured" their victims and followers in with some kind of weird "charm" (yuck I am shuddering at the thought)

I gave my ideas as to what I think seems healthy (and not) - but I doubt most of us qualify to make a professional judgement....just tossing out some ideas is all :)

in light of what Fear said (just above) I agree. We must know our own minds and not be susceptible to undue influence
