A Comanche brave was gathering wood near a mountain. He found a good pile near the corner of a cliff with a very large drop. He then heard a rattlesnake behind him. He turned around. It moved forward to the brave and cornered him. His choice, death by snake or jump to his death. He was a Comanche, so he was not afraid. He called to his ancestor's to give him advise. There was no answer. So he bagan to talk to the snake. Brother snake, forgive the intrusion. I did not mean to invade your home. Please accept my apology with this song. The Comanche brave sang from then till the sun went down. All the time the rattler was rattling. Night approched. Soon the rattle went from fast to very slow. The brave was tiring too, his voice no longer singing, but cracking. The rattler stopped and crawled away.
Moral of the story, don't give up. |
