Well for me sort of.... I dont want to hope that there were always be a second chance awaits for me every time i make a (bad) decision.

I think forgiveness helps the forgiver more than the forgiven... no sense hanging on to all that negative stuff anyway.

If someone make a decision that impacts me poorly, I go through natural tendencies of shock/hurt, anger/frustration, depression... etc., etc., then get to acceptance. And move on.

Second chances depend the other person... and how willing they are at making amends or even bother to dialogue.

It depends on what happened (to me).

I believe second chances are incredibly important. We all make mistakes. We all hurt people we love and care about whether through our actions or inactions. Most of the time, we do it without realizing the consequences. If I'd never been given a second chance, my life would be very different. I've been given multiple chances by most of the important people in my life. I'm a better person for it. I try to pay that forward. As long as the hurt wasn't caused intentionally, I'd like to say that I give as many chances as needed to effect change and make a relationship better.

I finally found a good spouse after surviving two crazy ones.
So, you, too, could have a second (or a third) chance.

Funny this topic should come up at this time as two ex-boyfriends in the last 3 weeks are trying to get back together with me. I don't believe in second chances when it comes to a relationship. Once we are broken up; its done. I don't buy the crap that they have changed either.

depends on the circumstances... i won't give a woman that cheated on me a second chance, but i make that known from the start... anything else i can forgive and forget...

Ditto..... it always depends on the situation.... if they steal from me or if they cheat on me they blew their second chance...

I love this post woman!...I will take that first sentence a step further and say I believe second chances are necessary, vital to the maintenance of life...I am not saying everyone deserves a second chance or should be given one...What I am saying is without second chances society woud become staid, uninteresting, stagnant....I am a firm believer in second chances, in spite of intent....Third, fourth, and so on is an entirely different matter...

Depends on the situation. But yes, 2nd chances, I do believe in. I don't, on the other hand, believe in 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.
