That's really funny. I wonder of everyone did that, what might happen. Too many people are PC, I for one wish more would fly it and fly it proud! I'm not pc, but I gotta diverge with you on this one. I have black friends and I know this represents a shameful era in our history. For my friends sake, I am against it. My black uncle and mulatto cousins understand that it represents southern culture and southern pride. Racism is just a BS title thrown at it to make it one the most hated flags by the ignorant who do not know any better. the flag is very simple and has nothing to do with racism, if it did it would have depictions of violent acts against non whites. What it does have is 3 colors, red which represents courage or fearlessness. The blue which by the way lays over the 13 white stars with the stars shining through the blue, represents the determination and justice for each person. Third and least common on the flag is white which represents purity, a color of peace. The flag also contains an X, this is used to tell the Union "We do not wish to be part of the Union any longer so X (cross) us out"! I understand flags mean many things to many people too and they have every right to interpret it their own way. A flag that 'represented' the confederacy, can be reasonably assumed to have represented the slavery that was part of its very CONSTITUTION,,,, {Article IV Section 3(3) The Confederate States may acquire new territory; and Congress shall have power to legislate and provide governments for the inhabitants of all territory belonging to the Confederate States, lying without the limits of the several states; and may permit them, at such times, and in such manner as it may by law provide, to form states to be admitted into the Confederacy. In all such territory, the institution of negro slavery as it now exists in the Confederate States, shall be recognized and protected by Congress, and by the territorial government: and the inhabitants of the several Confederate States and Territories, shall have the right to take to such territory any slaves lawfully held by them in any of the states or territories of the Confederate states.[38]} if others decide to see some other things it could represent, more power to them I happen to think 'southern hospitality' is wonderful amongst those southerners who have it and Im sure some people think of that when they think of the south, instead of thinking about the slavery |

At first I was all like WOOHOO, then was like...bummer! JACKSON, Miss. – Officials say a mistake is to blame for the Confederate flag being raised over the Mississippi Supreme Court building on Friday. Kym Wiggins, public information officer for the state Department of Finance and Administration, tells The Clarion-Ledger that the flag was put up accidentally when workers were replacing a worn Mississippi state flag. Wiggins says workers had gone to a local vendor to get state flags and were given two boxes labeled "Mississippi State Flag." She says that unknown to the workers the boxes actually contained Confederate flags. The flag was up for about two hours. Wiggins says the vendor has been notified to make sure no future problems take place. What an embarassment.... |

Let me get this straight. Slavery was limited to the South?
Another point. Illegals are the modern Slave Trade. Pro-Illegal is pro-slavery. |

I have black friends and I know this represents a shameful era in our history. For my friends sake, I am against it. Not really. The slavery problem was nationwide. For all its problems, the members of the CSA were correct to assert their right to secede. (for those who don't know, the civil war was not over slavery. It was about several things, including conflicts over nullification and secession.) Lincoln himself said in a letter to Horace Greely "My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union. I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause. I shall try to correct errors when shown to be errors; and I shall adopt new views so fast as they shall appear to be true views." |

The south may have lost the civil war, but rest assured...slavery won it. Equality was achieved by making everyone equal as slaves.
The story of your enslavement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Xbp6umQT58A and for the optimists among us, The story of our unenslavement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzyogKiXhEA |
