Sott.net Thu, 31 Jan 2013 05:51 CST ![]() obama drone © William Banzai7 MLK "I have a dream", Obama "I have a drone" In absolute disregard for both the US Constitution and international law, US drones are currently killing civilians, including women and children1, in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Uganda and the Philippines. Thousands have been killed, and tens of thousands more terrorized, by fleets of remote-controlled 'drone' aircraft.2 For those living in these drone-infested regions, the reality they experience on a daily basis is horrifying. In the dark future envisaged in the science fiction Terminator movies, human decisions are removed from strategic operations once an artificial intelligence (AI) called 'Skynet' takes control. In real life we have the conscienceless Military-Industrial Complex - run by humanoids in the CIA, Pentagon, British Ministry of Defence, US and UK Government administrations and weapons manufacturers - working together to develop a war machine that has removed all semblance of humanity from combat operations. In the movies we're invited to excuse Skynet's creators because it is no longer under their control. In real life, terminator drones are programmed to 'double-tap' their targets, a euphemism for deliberately targeting rescuers attempting to drag victims from rubble in the aftermath of the initial drone strike. The predictable result, is that for every "terrorist" killed in Pakistan 49 civilians are murdered also . 10,000 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) aka drones are said to be currently in service around the globe, "protecting Western civilization from terrorists". A thousand of these are armed and most of them are American-operated. It is reported they have killed more non-combatant civilians than died in 9/11 (and that's just the 'official estimates'). While military personnel cuts have shrunk the sizes of standing armies, 'theaters of operations' have expanded. In the US, the 'FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012', has seen the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA and other agencies work towards the total integration of commercial drones into US airspace. Ethical and privacy concerns are simply swept aside while the proliferation of drone technology is driven by the greed of powerful defense contractors. i just read another article about how he wants to start using drones to "inspect bridges and give traffic reports"... ![]() lots more here: http://www.sott.net/article/257482-Terminator-Obama-2013-The-Rise-of-Domestic-Killer-Drones |

I think gun stores everywhere should start selling shoulder-launch SAMS. It will at least give the civil militias a chance against the drones.

The newest truck built by a company we didn't bail out... Last week, I bought a new Ford F-250 Tri-Flex Fuel Truck. It's configured to run on either hydrogen, gasoline, or E85. I returned to the dealer yesterday because I couldn't get the radio to work. The service technician explained that the radio was voice activated. "Nelson," the technician said to the radio. The radio replied, "Ricky or Willie?" "Willie!" he continued and 'On The Road Again' came blasting from the speakers. Then he said, "Ray Charles!" and in an instant 'Georgia On My Mind' replaced Willie Nelson. I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time I'd say, "Beethoven," I'd get beautiful classical music. If I said, "Beatles," I'd get one of their awesome songs. Yesterday, some guy ran a red light and nearly creamed my new truck. Fortunately, with the truck's highly responsive suspension, I was able to swerve in time to avoid him. I yelled, "A$$ Hole!" Immediately the radio responded with, "Ladies and gentlemen, The President of The United States!!!" |

We're all unhappier now with the direction our country has taken since we spun away from the Bush era plundering, and Obama has been representing the status quo agenda. But, as we all know, no matter who leads, it's always the power behind the throne that succeeds. So I personally can't wait to see who they put in office next, and how the new person will continue backing and/or fronting for the status quo as they keep all their "balls" in the air while aiming them straight at us.
I can't help but wonder what will be any different then as apposed to now. Will there be civil uprising like everywhere else? Another 60's movement, where we're still naive enough to think "peace and love" is all we need to change the world? Or are we going to just do like we've been doing, keeping up with the direction, changes, and overall agendas, get angry, talk about it, then move on to the next new thing being forced on us as an allegedly free country where we have the rights to change what we don't like... yeah, right... Sorry guys... I just go all female on certain topics when I become informed about the various things our countrymen are doing that I find appalling. And killing 100 women and children, just to take out one man in their midst, without even having the nerve to look them in the face as they pull the trigger, is downright cowardly to me, even if it's lauded as "new technology." Okay, I've said my piece... |

Just for the record. A major base for military drones is Houston, TX. ![]() "We like to think of the drone war as something far away, fought in the deserts of Yemen or the mountains of Afghanistan. But we now know it’s closer than we thought. There are 64 drone bases on American soil. That includes 12 locations housing Predator and Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles, which can be armed." "California and Texas lead the pack, with 10 and six sites, respectively, and there are also 22 planned locations for future bases." http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012/06/64-drone-bases-on-us-soil/ |

However, the "future base" shown on that map in Houston has been fully operational for years (I got in trouble a few years ago for driving in front of one the drones as it was taxiing for takeoff.) |

Maybe you should read a little history about how over 100,000 innocent Japanese civilians were killed during a single night of fire bombing by the US. I would be MORE concerned if we were not using drone attacks in Pakistan, Yemen & Somalia. |

We were in total war with Japan when we firebombed Tokyo as retaliation for their sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. For years Japan had been killing thousands of Chinese and were mistreating and killing captured American soldiers from the Philippines. Japan refused to abide by the Geneva rules of war and treated everyone as sub-human. Their ally Germany, had V-2 bombed London extensively. The US attacks on Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Hiroshima ended World War II and it is estimated that it saved over a million lives over what would have happened if we would have invaded. Maybe you should read a little history and you wouldn't make such invalid comparisons. |
