those who dont post pics are probably hoping to attract people by some other measure,, perhaps their wit, their profile interests, or their forum conversation after that, they can choose to share pictures with those whose initial attractoin was not merely 'physical',,,,,I dont fault those folks at all I guess Im just not confident enough that I have written anything witty enough to stand out on its own amongst so many profiles,,,, I don't even know that it matters. I have my real pictures set to private and I still get hit on with a cartoon  and I don't post in the forums as often as I used to, so no one can see my wit...or lack of

People not sharing photos so they can stand out in wit? You are quite intelligent to me, Ms Harmony. The photo just enhances it. And Jesse James meant that since this is a dating site and we are visual creatures, it defeats the purpose when members don't share real photos of themselves. You can be as witty as you want to be. If you look like you don't take care of yourself, you will turn off a potential mate in the long run. But not everyone uses this site as a dating site. Many use it as a social site and come here for the forums. If someone is looking to date, then yes pictures help. But not everyone is here for that. If someone doesn't want to talk to someone without a picture, that is their right. Profiles can be easily passed. But some people do have real pictures in the profiles set to private I have the cartoon HOPING people would pass me up |

Seems like a triviality to worry too much about. Some people feel intimated. We are likewise an appearance conscious society. My pic is me. It is a little older than I would like but I am not a very photographic person.
Besides, they won't let me post naked pictures of myself. I am not sure I can get all of myself in one picture anyways.... OH AND IF YOU DON'T SEE THE COMEDY IN THAT EGO RIDDEN STATEMENT THEN YOU HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMOR!

This is a dating site. They should require real photos of members and to use them as their default photo. The main purpose of this site is to meet singles. I just see too many main photos of odd creatures and cartoon characters. What's the deal? There is no tyranny like petty tyranny.

I respectfully disagree Toodygirl This site started years ago as Just Say Hi -- many people became friends there before it changed names three times to become mingle2. We used to have a lot of fun in the forums. Why on earth should we not be allowed to stay in touch with friends just because we aren't looking to date in these 10 seconds? |

They have sites for Forum users only, plenty out there they can do a search. Many Men online do not even use the forums they are on Date sites to date. Many eliminating just users may help clear out the profiles some. I am just saying... Oh and friends can be met on Forums sites. But this site is used as a social site as well and has been since the beginning. The site is ok with it. We love our old timers and newbies. This is why there is an option, offered by the site, to say looking for friendship |
