Topic: Getting the Flu | |
---|---|
Several years ago, I watched a TV movie about an influenza epidemic that struck the USA.
In the movie, a nurse asked a boy how he became sick. The boy replied, "I opened a window and influenza." Well, in my current case, I opened a door and influenza. (Due to my disability, I rarely leave my home any more. Since last September, I have been out of my home only to go to medical appointments. So, I do not know how I picked up the flu virus.) I am writing to let other know that there is a strain of the flu virus that flu shots do not prevent. I currently have that strain, and it is contagious. That flu shot that I took 3 weeks ago did no good as far as I know. Also, during the year 2012, health insurance policies have treated the new flu medicine Tamiflu as a luxury medicine. I had a $60 co-pay for my prescription. Being my luck, if I had purchased it tomorrow (the 1st of the year), then my policy might have provided me with a less-expensive co-pay. Oh well, I desperately needed the medicine. I may not be back on the Internet until I get over this stuff. So, I leave the site debates for others to continue. By the way, if I vigorously disagree with you during a debate, then it isn't personal. So, cheers! and stay safe. |

I was told, just recently, eating fresh, raw onion will help get rid of the flu.
Also, cut a good portion off each end of an onion and set it on a plate next to where you sleep. See if it has blackened by the morning. Throw it away and if you use onion, throw away what you don't use. For some reason, they become toxic pretty quickly. Call me crazy. If you try it, let us know if it works. Best to ya'. |

I am sorry Dodo David that you have the flue. I wish I could do something to help you feel better. I am lucky as I don't get the flue; nor do I get the flue shot so I don't know how you feel but my best wishes are that you will recover ASAP.

Get well Soon! Best Wishes for the New Year! Several people I tried to talk with the past few days had colds, and was trying to avoid close contact with others. I did have my flu shot. |
