Online is not necessarily 'false' as people are complex and adaptable and not merely in one box or another. But, people can walk away from online and come back. They have time to get into an online 'mode' of what they want to share and what they dont. They can more easily put forward their best foot the majority of the time when they only have to communicate in text. ITs much harder to put that best foot forward as often in Real time. WHen you spend time, together, in environments that arent controlled or predictable, you get to see the best and WORST of each other and you can get a more 'honest' assessment of your compatibility. I think online is a great place to start and build a FRIENDSHIP, but I wouldnt suggest allowing romantic feelings to creep into a Friendship that is only onscreen...... my two cents,,, |
