Oh, but Dad almost gave me a heart attack today. I was roused by a text message from him. He said my Mom's platelet count was low, so I asked what was her level, and he said it was 51. That woke me up faster than a hot poker, I tell ya! Ran to my vehicle, PJs and all, ready to drive like a madman, barefoot!

(A normal platelet count is minimum 150 thousand. If you have a result of under 20 thousand, you need to give the patient some platelet transfusion, because the possibility of internal bleeding is HIGH.)

I was already crying my eyes out and hubby was trying to calm me down, trying to put on some bottoms on me, when Dad called and told me that the doctor said it was okay and they'll have another test tomorrow and they will go see the doctor again after that. Turns out the result was 51 thousand. Sigh.
