Topic: Please,how old is this earth now

Can somebody help to educate me on this.From Adam to this 2012,is it up to 7000 years? I need to know 'cos that could help my calculations.I feel we are very near to the end of time

Around 4.55 billion years old according to science, but in biblical terms several christian ministries promote the idea that the earth is less than 10,000 years old, which they say comes from the Bible. In reality, the Bible makes no claim as to the age of the earth, although it does establish a minimum age.
