my new pc will not let any web cams to work and will not let mine work does anyone know why this is happending ???my pc is window is xp made bye dell

OOOOh.. how new is new ?? because when you said Windows XP well that is not new the newest is Windows Vista.
Maybe your web cam doesn't work with windows XP. Either that or did you up date or download the softwear that came with the web cam ?. And how old is the web cam ?. I mean it could be a number of things on why your webcam will not work with your pc but I can only guess the above. |

the webcam is about 4 years old i think hmm do i should i go bye a new one ????

Well if you still have the box that you bought the web cam in then I would look at it and see if it say's anything on there about it being able to use Windows XP for starter's.
If not then maybe you should just go to there site download the lastest software update and see if that works, if that doesn't then yeah I would go buy a new one that runs XP to windows vista. |

nd what brand of web cam do you have , i know dells and some web cams but they should work even if cam is 4 yrs old and you have a new system with windows xp you might need to install service pack 2 for win xp to get it to work let me know and i will try to help you

Hi couple of quick questions did you install the drivers and soft ware first and what brand of web cam do you have , i know dells and some web cams but they should work even if cam is 4 yrs old and you have a new system with windows xp you might need to install service pack 2 for win xp to get it to work let me know and i will try to help you

ok ,, but it only has one disk hmm i have no clue about this webcam thing lol i was thinking maybe i should remove it and try it again what do you think

its EasyCam and its for window"s xp i still can not vew and dont know why ,,, help and it will not let it work either

It could be that you have them blocked with a firewall or popup blocker. Check the setting on those and see if that lets you run cams
|

you can still get xp with dell
they do not force vista on ya yet i would suggest goin to microsft down loads and check for updates then if that does not work do the same for the maker of the web cams site but hey what do i know |

Maybe I should have went with a Dell...I just got a new computer and it has the Windows Vista on it...OMG, I do not like it at all!!!

well if find an xp disc
you can change it but i hear you have to do it thru dos fun fun fun microsoft the unfriendly software maker disclaimer------- just personal opinion in no way is it to cause you to dislike microsoft or any of its products |
