Topic: One Choice? | |

What does "one choice" mean?
It sounds stupid but think about it... "No choice" means there's nothing to choose between, there is only one course of action. "Two choices" means you have to decide between two outcomes, A or B. So what does "one choice" mean? When someone says you have only one choice.. dosn't it normally mean the same thing as "no choice?" |

I guess we always have more than one option (or at least the illusion of it) but the saying means that there is only one option that works, or makes sense, or is the most realistic, or probable when weighed against the other options...thus no other choice...

i guess for 3 so far this is
to deep of a thought provoking process but hey what do i know |

Well no choice means =that they pretty much dont know what decision to make which is why we say "I had no choice" meaning we had no more choices than the one to make.
One choice is not a option it is pretty much a yes or no type deal you either do it or you dont |

I agree with workingman.. no choice means NO CHOICE you HAVE to do it.. ONE choice means at least there's an option..
But if "one choice" means there's an option... isn't that the same as "two choices?"

in essence yes.. but in truth NO.. think of it.. you're invited to a wedding.. you can either accept or refuse.. (and send a card full of guilt money ) and then there's 2 choices.. you can either got to Bob's wedding or Tom's wedding... you now have 2 choices.. then theres'.. you HAVE to go to your SISTER's wedding.. that.. is NO CHOICE

I hate weddings...
Isn't one choice rather like the sound of one hand clapping? |

You mean it makes a mild "woosh"ing noise?

Your question argues a point that is pointless. If there is only one direction to travel, you travel it...or not.
Binary operations work for computers. The human experience always involves more than one choice. |

How about the RIGHT choice.
well in an election many say they have no choice
but in reality they mean that both the major party candidates are worthless but the other candidate is a one choice even if you do not like them you should vote for them to build up a third party and send a message to the other party so in reality that is the one choice to make |
Huh?
well most of the time niether of the two major parties have a good candidate
and if you vote for a third candidate even if you do not like them chances are they will not win but if everyone started doing this eventually when the third candidate gets to 25% of the vote maybe things will start changing so if you like none of the candidates vote for the third or forth candidate that is the one choice that could make a differnce in the future but hey what do i know |
one choice would be just that
one choice take it or leave it |

Funny, cause you ALWAYS have a choice. Might not be a good choice or a choice you want to make, or do you?
Example: On a job I had, I was told I didn't have a choice! Well, we all have choices. I made a choice and quit! LOL We always have a choice! |
exactly
if you like no one that is the one choice to make a difference with out possibly electing someone you do not like |
YAH WHAT HE^^^^^^SAID

I think having one choice or no choice is the same thing...You still choose something...No choice still comes with a decision and an action...no matter what that choice is...Sometimes people think they have no choice when they feel helpless or backed into a corner!!!!!!!!!
