Thanks to everyone! Thanks for caring about me and my son...Navygirl: Thanks for starting this thread. Sorry I put so much on you in the other thread...My son just turned 40 in May. Family was always so important to him. He loved to hear everyone's stories and tales from the past...When he was about 10 he befriended the lady who lived across the street from us. She was a widow with no family closeby...My son used to go over and visit her so she wouldn't feel so all alone. He watched her crochet and listened to all of her tales and stories from the past. And considered himself her "adopted grandson."...He always looked after older people in our neighborhood. And he "laid down the law" with his friends and insisted that their younger brothers and sisters could hang-out with the "group" too.. He wanted to make sure that everyone always felt "included" no matter how old or young they were...Age was never a factor with him. He loved to walk along the pier and talk to older fisherman...He always made up cute names for me all during his life. The last one was "Mims!"....He could be serious and discuss most topics in-depth...And he had a cute "playful side" too and a great sense of humor. He made me laugh and smile...Before he got so sick we planned to make our "karaoke debut" together and we were working on a duet...Sorry to go on and on. Thanks for caring and listening....Both my sons are gone now. Sad! And my husband is gone too. Now it's just me and the cats.
