I have my opinions.

I'm also VERY aware that content of quiet action speaks volumes.

My question is.....I guess...

Am I alone in throwing in the towel? When someone is SO overbearingly contrary to everything you believe in (in an auditorily loud fashion)......

Can you walk away?

Do you mean when in conversation with them or online? I never have a problem walking away. People are entitled to their own opinions, beliefs, views etc. If they are pushy & cant hold a two way conversation, I actually like astounding them by walking away.

when they become loud and obnoxious.....

...and you find "yourself" being almost such

Lol. I just dont like people who love to hear the sound of their own voice. It is not a conversation, nor a debate. It is being steamrolled.

I am happy to listen to anyones opinions, but when they become load and try pushing their opinions on me, I giggle, normally that doesnt impress them that much, so they end their discussion.

The more serious someone gets the more it makes me giggle.noway

You need to do what is best for you always. You can not make others happy if you are miserable. Sometimes it saddens us to do such things, however, in the long run you will be glad you took the right course.

I think you have discovered the power of giggle.

This is not the first time that you describe here on the forums the "giggle" as you response. I can't remember now to quote you, you probably do. At any rate it's a great defence mechanism.

No bug or virus has ever developed resistence against being squashed underfoot on a cement silewalk.

No human has ever known what to do when a cute blonde giggles. It's even more perplexing than when she cries. When she cries, the man at least has a preprogrammed response, which he can apply: he calls it unfair, or tells her to please stop, or offers her his shoulder and penis to lean on and cry on.

But a giggle is outside of our set of evolutionary repertoire. Most people don't know what a giggle means, and therefore they retreat when they feel they are still able to while and without losing face. A giggle disarms and confuses. When you get giggled at, you don't know if it's out of liking or disdain. At any rate, it makes you into a somebody. You don't know how to respond, since a giggle does not convey the value of disapproval or approval, it just says that one or the other is present, big time. So you are a somebody because you get a huge response, with a strong rating, except you don't know if the rating is positive or negative. What you do? You retreat. It's better to be a somebody, than to pry and try and find out in which direction, because the chances of beratedment or adoration are fifty-fifty, which is too high a risk, seeing the negative can be huge in volume or magnitude. She giggled, didn't she? So shut up and cut your losses, even if it means cutting a victory at 50% of the cases. At best.

You retreat. You run with your gain, that being your being a somebody, and you stop at that. All further inquiries are abandoned.

Giggle power. Perfect. Original. Brilliant.

Well, if you want to throw in the towel, just do it, yourself, or ask your trainer.

You can't tell me that you are so strongly a social being that even throwing in the towel you can't do alone, you need friends and company to help you do it literally, or support you from the sidelines as you do it by cheering for you and jeering at your opponent.

Yeah...let's kick the obnoxious & overbearing person to the kerb. I don't care that life is beating them with the fugly end of the stick, because their arrogant opinion is drowning out my almost perfect voice.

Oooo...i see something shiny in another thread.
