No other solution than strong arm tactics? Because you very well know, this hasn't worked yet? The sole reason why you are stuck in this quagmire is because US blind support for Israel... If you listened to Bin Laden warnings 20 years ago, You would be enjoying peace right now... (not that I would have done that myself mind you) 60 yrs later.... I think Israel can handle herself, and she should be held responsible for her actions. Iran is no pushover... War is in their genetics... I don't think America/Israel is ready for war with Iran. And to be honest, You can't afford it. You can't counter a regime like Iran which attacks and murders innocent people in terrorist attacks at home and abroad with "chit-chat". No point in bringing a knife to a gunfight either. We are all ready to confront terrorists and those that support them anytime and anywhere. |

So you don't think that criminals should be arrested and prosecuted for their crimes? You don't think that Iran is one of the worst state sponsors of terrorism? And even if you acknowledge that Iran is obviously one of the worst state sponsors of attacks on innocent people in their own country and abroad - you don't think they should be sanctioned or disarmed or confronted? What threatens to bring western civilization to it's knees in recent years is merely bigotry, thuggery, terrorism and ignorance! The things you apparently don't wish to confront in Iran!!! |

I do not see Iran involved in attacking anyone.
However I see my country and yours involved in two major wars and involved all over the globe in lesser conflicts. No other country on this planet has been involved in more wars than the US, as a result we are bankrupt. |

I do not see Iran involved in attacking anyone. However I see my country and yours involved in two major wars and involved all over the globe in lesser conflicts. No other country on this planet has been involved in more wars than the US, as a result we are bankrupt. OMG. You really don't think that Iran, the Holocaust denying atrocity machine - the radical Islamic hostage holding theocracy which murders their own dissenters in the streets, holds prisoners without charges, has no free press or freedom of religion or women's rights is attacking anyone?? Former U.S. Director of National Intelligence Michael McConnell told CFR.org in June 2007 there is "overwhelming evidence" that Iran supports terrorists in Iraq and "compelling" evidence that it does the same in Afghanistan. Iran has repeatedly denied involvement in attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, though in October 2008, a top Iranian military commander did acknowledge Iran supplies weapons to "liberation armies" (AP) in the Middle East. Western intelligence officials insist Iran's malfeasance is widespread. According to the State Department's 2010 Country Reports on Terrorism, the IRGC, and more specifically the elite Quds Force, remains Iran's "primary mechanism for cultivating and supporting terrorists abroad." An unclassified Defense Department report on Iran's military power (PDF) from April 2010 made similar claims. And according to declassified intelligence reports released by the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point in October 2008, Iranian support to militants in Iraq has included "paramilitary training, weapons, and equipment" (PDF). Similar meddling is believed to be ongoing in Afghanistan. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen, speaking with journalists in March 2010 in Kabul, said Iran was supplying weapons to fighters in southern Afghanistan. The U.S. government first listed Iran as a terrorist sponsor in January 1984. Among Iran's alleged activities have been the following: - Observers say Iran had prior knowledge of Hezbollah attacks, such as the 1988 kidnapping and murder of Colonel William Higgins, a U.S. Marine involved in a UN observer mission in Lebanon, and the 1992 and 1994 bombings of Jewish cultural institutions in Argentina. - Iran still has a price on the head of the Indian-born British novelist Salman Rushdie for what Iranian leaders call blasphemous writings about Islam in his 1989 novel The Satanic Verses. - U.S. officials say Iran supported the group behind the 1996 truck bombing of Khobar Towers, a U.S. military residence in Saudi Arabia, which killed nineteen U.S. servicemen. - Military officials say numerous attacks since 2001 on U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, and coalition forces in Iraq, have been attributed to Iranian-made weapons. - A set of classified documents leaked by the website WikiLeaks.org in July 2010 reports extensive collaboration between Iran and the Taliban, Afghan warlords, and al-Qaeda, but all the claims have not been corroborated (Guardian). - Iran has also been blamed for attacks in Balochistan in Pakistan. - In April 2011, the United States and the European Union accused the Quds Force of providing equipment and support to help the Syrian regime suppress revolts in Syria. - In October 2011, Washington accused the Quds Force of plotting to assassinate the Saudi ambassador (NYT) to the United States, and plotting to bomb the Israeli Embassy in Washington and the Saudi and Israeli Embassies in Argentina. http://www.cfr.org/iran/state-sponsors-iran/p9362#p2 The United States of America on the other hand which does have freedom of the press, freedom of religion, equal rights for all citizens, policy not to torture or attack anyone offensively and who has supported the overthrow of despotic tyrants all over the globe as a matter of peacemaking and support of basic human freedoms you view as worse than Iran. Paint that feces any rainbow color you want and it will still be multicolored ca-cah. |

Since the 1979 Iranian revolution and the downfall of the US Puppet Ruler the Shah, Iran has been an Islamic state. In that interval of time, 1979 to the present, Iran has not invaded anyone. Not once. People of all religions live in peace in Iran, even Jews, who find life so comfortable in Iran they refused an offer by the government of Israel to emigrate!
In the same period of time, Israel, a self-declared Jewish state, attacked Iraq in 1981, bombing the power station at Osirik, claiming it was a clandestine weapons factory. Subsequent examination of the ruins following the 2003 invasion proved Israel had lied. In 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon. This led to the Massacres at Sabra and Shatilla. In February 2003 Israel staged incursions into Gaza and Nablus. In September 2007 Israel bombed Syria, again insisting they were destroying a clandestine weapons laboratory. Again there was no evidence to support Israel's claims. In 2006, Israel attacked Lebanon, killing 1200, mostly civilians, several UN observers, and littering the landscape with land mines on their way out. In February 2008 Israel again raided Gaza, killing over 100. HAMAS agreed to a cease fire and kept it for 6 months until November 4, when Israel again attacked without warning, killing 6 HAMAS members, and launching operation CAST LEAD. 1300 Gazans, mostly civilians, were killed. Israel lost 13 soldiers. Violations of international law included the use of White Phosphorus incendiary bombs against civilians and non-military targets. The United Nations investigated, but Israel refused to cooperate. In May 2010, Israel attacked an international aid flotilla bringing food and medical supplies to Gaza in international waters. 9 people were murdered including an American from New York. In the same period of time, the United States, officially a secular nation but predominantly Christian, attacked El Salvador (1980), Libya (1981), Sinai (1982), Lebanon (1982 1983), Egypt (1983), Grenada (1983), Honduras (1983), Chad (1983), Persian Gulf (1984), Libya (1986) , Bolivia (1986), Iran (1987), Persian Gulf (1987), Kuwait (1987), Iran (1988), Honduras (1988), Panama (1988), Libya (1989), Panama (1989), Colombia, Bolivia, and Peru (1989), Philippines (1989), Panama (1989-1990), Liberia (1990), Saudi Arabia (1990), Iraq (1991), Zaire (1991), Sierra Leone (1992), Somalia (1992), Bosnia-Herzegovina (1993 to present), Macedonia (1993), Haiti (1994), Macedonia (1994), Bosnia (1995), Liberia (1996), Central African Republic (1996), Albania (1997), Congo/Gabon (1997), Sierra Leon (1997), Cambodia (1997), Iraq (1998), Guinea/Bissau (1998), Kenya/Tanzania (1998 to 1999), Afghanistan/Sudan (1998), Liberia (1998), East Timor (1999), Serbia (1999), Sierra Leon (2000), Yemen (2000), East Timor (2000), Afghanistan (2001 to present), Yemen (2002), Philippines (2002) , Cote d'Ivoire (2002), Iraq (2003 to present), Liberia (2003), Georgia/Djibouti (2003), Haiti (2004), Georgia/Djibouti/Kenya/Ethiopia/Yemen/Eritrea War on Terror (2004), Pakistan drone attacks (2004 to present), Somalia (2007), South Ossetia/Georgia (2008), Syria (2008), Yemen (2009), Haiti (2010), etc. etc. etc. etc. So, who is the danger to world peace? http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/dangertopeace.php |

I am rather stunned that only the US involves itself in so many wars big and small. I wonder what other countries do to settle disputes? |

Again what countries should or should not be on the list?
I am rather stunned that only the US involves itself in so many wars big and small. I wonder what other countries do to settle disputes? I think you missed my point. I'm using this as an example of the manipulation of information to suit a desired outcome. BTW, your questions contain logical fallacies (as do many posts in this category). See the link below for a comprehensive explation of the term. http://www.fallacyfiles.org/introtof.html |

If this country wanted peace we would have it. I wont sit back and let Iran be the next victim of our trumped up charges or Israels. I will do my best to inform and educate and that even includes you. Americans lose every time we wage war and waste the resources that could better be used to rebuild this crumbling country. |

No, not at all. You don't understand mine, but I'm used to that. |

No, not at all. You don't understand mine, but I'm used to that. Exactly what information is being manipulated? Has this country not created or instigated or fabricated more reasons to go to war than any other country in modern times? |

I find your high school civics class version if MY government to be amusing.
Can you please explain that in English? I find your complete lack of understanding of my intent annoying. Exactly what information is being manipulated? Has this country not created or instigated or fabricated more reasons to go to war than any other country in modern times?
I'm sorry, but I explained that in an earlier post you didn't respond to. |
