Red made me do it.
This thread has reminded me of some movies I've forgotten about, and some I missed. |

Dead Birds '04- A group of Confederate soldiers hole up in an abandoned plantation after robbing a bank and find themselves at the mercy of supernatural forces. Another one that creeped me out. I also really liked the Civil War setting. Shallow Ground '04- A naked teenage boy covered in blood appears at a remote sheriff's station one year after the brutal unsolved murder of a local girl. Now Sheriff Jack Shepherd, guilt ridden over the girl's murder, must confront his own demons as he desperately searches for the boy's true identity and possible victims. Little does Jack realize that he has started down a path that will bring him face to face with an unthinkable horror. Before sunrise the living will pay for the pain the dead have suffered. Dead End '03- Christmas Eve. On his way to his in-laws with his family, Frank Harrington decides to try a shortcut, for the first time in 20 years. It turns out to be the biggest mistake of his life. This ones like a feature length Twilight Zone episode. Ray Wise, and Lin Shaye are excellent as the parents. Diary Of The Dead '07- George Romero's found footage about a group of college students trying to make their way to safety during a zombie outbreak. Dang! I knew I forgot a whole lot more! T, still remember that Korean horror film I told you about? It's about another serial killer that was shown right after The Chaser? |

I Saw the Devil (2010) Akmareul boatda (original title)
Kyung-chul (Choi Min-sik) is a dangerous psychopath who kills for pleasure. He has committed infernal serial murders in diabolic ways that one cannot even imagine and his victims range from young women to even children. The police have chased him for a long time, but were unable to catch him. One day, Joo-yeon, daughter of a retired police chief becomes his prey and is found dead in a horrific state. Her fiance Soo-hyun (Lee Byung-hun), a top secret agent, decides to track down the murderer himself. He promises himself that he will do everything in his power to take bloody vengeance against the killer, even if it means that he must become a monster himself to get this monstrous and inhumane killer. |

Likely story. I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. |

Didn't bother to read the whole thread, but I'll throw out a few I enjoyed over the last decade.
Wrong Turn Rest Stop High Tension The Hills Have Eyes (remake) Dawn Of The Dead (remake) All the newer Texas Chainsaw Massacre films 28 Weeks Later Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2 All the "Scream" films All the Final Destination films (except for the last one...part 5 I think...idk...I lost count) The first "Saw" film (the rest of them suck) AVP I know I'm missing a bunch, but I enjoyed a lot of the "torture porn" films that came out in this era. Also a few foreign films. |

Yay for another Rest Stop fan!

Audition (2001) A widower takes an offer to screen girls at a special audition, arranged for him by a friend to find him a new wife. The one he fancies is not who she appears to be after all.
I caught this on the Bravo's Scariest list, its great if you haven't seen a film like this before. |

Anybody seen a horror film called The Host? I've heard it's pretty good!

I'm a big fan of Lucky McKee's films- May, The Woods, and The Woman. And his thriller Red, with Brian Cox.
Dagon, loosely based on HP Lovecraft's The Shadow Over Innsmouth. Madhouse '04 Wrong Turn Wendigo The Last Winter The Hazing is a fun horror comedy that's like a cross between Night Of The Demons, and The Evil Dead. Night Of The Living Dorks about a trio of dorks who die and come back as zombies. Monster Man about 2 friends on a road trip terrorized by a deformed man in a monster truck. The Attic Expeditions with Seth Green and Jefferey Combs. |
