I see some people on there with literally thousands of 'friends'. I assume many of those are people they've never met or barely know. Why collect so many? I'm for quality over quantity any day. Maybe you can explain it to me

Everyone is different. I dont collect friends either. I chat to family overseas mainly and cant be bothered with facebook, that is just me.

Maybe you can explain it to me Validation or acceptance maybe??...who knows why they collect FB friends except them? If it makes them feel good, that's their prerogative. FB is a good way of reconnecting or keeping in touch with friends & family for me. |

Well, some folks use Facebook as a networking tool. I have one dude on my friends list who friended me (he is a friend of a dude I went to high school with). Anyways, this guy has a band and he uses Facebook to announce shows and the like. But I do feel that when people have a high number of friends that it is mostly game driven. Now, if only Torgo would friend me.

I prefer talking face to face. If I ever make a new Facebook profile, it will be void of any drama or dramatic people. Not keen on gossip, much. I used to have one, but I couldn't be bothered with it. The term 'Narcissist' springs to mind when I see someone's profile and they have about 5000000000 friends on there. It doesn't seem real. Some profiles scream attention seeker. Or even worse, they're dramatic AND an attention seeker.

I do find it annoying that FB will notify me that a particular friend likes this or that bottled water or product. Also, while I do enjoy my artist friends, going through page after page of pictures posted is not the same experience as going to a gallery. AND furthermore, when I get updates on where they are at on specific games they are playing, I usually send them a note about how nerdy they are.

Then you have to deal with the random friendship requests. And the fact that "Trina has just added Brian to her friend list". Yeah. Like i really care. It's really not going to affect my offline existence. Sorry it just gets on my nerves.
. I'm more relieved to be thirty, than I ever was being in my twenties. You feel much less pressurized into peer pressure situations and such. I've never like Farcebook much. I think it knows

I have 440 on there. about 300 are Farmville friends the rest are from here & family.
I have many on my friends list on here from when I was active in the forums & they were fun. not many on my list weren't forums people. |

I have some added from playing games, but other then that, all people I know personally. The friends I do have on here, are all mostly people I know personally also, or have gotten to know online.
I just realized no one really sends me friend requests on here, I need to go cheer myself up now, I think a pedicure would fix that! |

I only have people I know and trust on my FB (friends and family)
I don't like drama or vulgar language and I protect my friends and family, so I don't just accept everyone as a friend on FB. |

Facebook and I don't get along. I joined it years ago, loathed it and never really used it. I just cannot get into social application sites such as though, and the idea of collecting friends to me, just speaks on how highly one actually thinks of ones friends.

If it's someone from here I've either met or gotten to know, I'm fine with that. But, I've had people try to add me who have never bothered to even say hi to me before and that's kind of weird. |

Most of my friends on facebook, are family, some are friends and their children. Others, I did get a request from playing games on there. Recently FB did let people that I don't know, from other countries, that don't speak English, send request from a game. It all depends on how you handle yourself with these people.
