everyone has a different opinion, I mean if its not a 5 or something, perhaps that person is just giving their honest perception even if its different from ours

I remember, I went to school with alot of blonde haired folks and blue eyed folks and that seemed very the 'norm' to me,,,in other words it was what was fairly AVERAGE from my perspective

people with darker hair, or unique combinations (unique to my experience) were more striking and would probably be considered more than AVERAGE

so I may see a blonde haired blue eyed girl and honestly give her a 7, based upon my perception even though someone else who may have a different experience than me will think she is the sexiest thing in the world,,,,

Just because someone is beautiful, don't mean that they ain't as screwed up as the rest of us.

I think for some newcomers it is just part of the gauntlet that social site dating creates by even having that kind of a thread.

If they are new and think they need the exposure to be noticed it is really kind of sad.

If it is a genuine request for evaluation or help createing an inviting profile then I see it as a positive try to put a good foot forward. Not everyone knows how to promote themself in media. Sometimes people really do fall on their own sword posting profiles or photos that create something completely opposite to their personality. First impressions are important.

How a person accepts or rejects a requested rating often says more for/about them than their profile.
