I've noticed this the past few days.

One ad for sure causing slowdowns is "Great Wolf Lodge".

Athlon X2 dual 3800+
XP Pro sp3
8.0.6001.18702IS

Flash 11.1.102.55

First off,

the adds in no way, would have any effect on your cpu. I suspect your memory is overloaded.

My suggestion would be to uninstall any unused programs, and downlosd and run this http://www.malwarebytes.org/lp/malware_lp?gclid=CPecvcPRkrECFQgFnQodMkiHeg this is a free version, but it is the best anti malware i've found. Hope this helps,
Mark

First off,
I've been repairing PC's for almost 20 years so I know your assertation is most assuredly false.

http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=AhKTFXeCBoOZ3uXez6FTcvSbvZx4?p=flash+ads+using+100%25+CPU&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-701

I have verified that the ad in question is the culprit by 1. Scrolling the ad off the screen. (and) 2. By refreshing or browsing to another page until another ad is delivered.

For the record, I have 3 gigs of RAM with 2 gigs available and only 24 total running processes.

still, this is not a cpu issue, it is a memory issue or perhaps a problem with your hard drive. The cpu is simply a port for your memory, other than that, it's only an interface to your peripherals, correct? Please do correct me if i'm wrong.

Ads simply would not be able to corrupt that, unless of course they contain a virus, in which our system would have already detected.

I suspect one of your memory cards may have failed. This happened to me, just recently.

If you have any other particulars, i would like to hear them, because i love solving problems, and learning.

Use Firefox with the add-on adblock plus. Problem solved

I never said it was a CPU issue. It is a flash-based ad issue.

Simply put, the ad in question is/was garbage. Since I started this topic, I have not once been delivered that particular ad and I have not had a repeat of the issue.

We're looking for the ad, Peter_Pan69. We have not yet found it in the rotation, but if we do we'll do some testing on it.

The ad appears to be larger than the given dimensions.

I can email it to you guys if needed.
