I'd just say that we have a balance of tech-options here that allow us to interact in a manner that has created some love matches and a whole lotta really genuine REAL friendships as well as virtual ones. There are opportunities to go chat or email or telephone or meet in a variety of other ways/places online and offline. People have made this work and the site continues to be free and relatively pain free. The forums are lots of fun, function well and there is oversight that is generally considered appropriate, although there have been a few butt cracks banned and of course, Ese's World Peace movement has been stilled (so there are always exceptions.)
Although everything can be advanced over time, sometimes leaving what's not broken unfixed is the best answer (...and this from a girl who likes change!) JMHO about Mingle as it exists today. |

Hi there!
Looks like I'm done working for the day, off to play! I do have a question - of course - since y'all moderatorz are on here a lot... (1) When I nudge someone, say with a wink, as long as they haven't blocked email notification, does it default to sending them an email notifying them that they've been "nudged"? An awful lot of the hits returned by the search engine are coming back "haven't been seen for over a month" and I want to know if I can entice them back by sending a "nudge". If it doesn't send an email to them, I'll have to try something else like a quick message to see if they are still looking for a man, if that sends an email to them. (2) I DO have to make a suggestion - maybe the search engine should sort the returns by the selected fields picked, THEN sort those by "most recently online" so that the first ones are those most recently here and most likely to respond. If this site wants to generate more action/fermentation for the members, and I figger it does since froth is good, then that would help a lot. I have 732 in my returned search, 74 pages of returns, and it sure would be nice if the ones I see first have been online most recently. I tried the "currently online" search and THAT returned people from all over the planet! Maybe THAT one should sort for nearest to me at the top to farthest so that the ones at the top are more relevant to me? Y'all are gonna ban me, I know it, I can't help it, this is what I do... Bob ps. please don't ban me, I'm mostly harmless...just an engineer and we're known to be strange...bk |

When you send nudges it does not send the member a e-mail telling them so. If you look on your profile you will see it says nudges it will give a number beside that telling you how many you have had. In order to see them you have to click on that number for it to take you to see who has nudged you.
As far as the features on the site the Mods do not have anything to do with them Nor at this time is admin taking any suggestions on changing any of the features.. You can go to the help forums if you like to post questions in order for either Admin or a Mod to answer your questions. Here is the link for that forum... http://mingle2.com/forum/forum/7 |

Hi --
Thanks for letting me know! I just went through 18 pages of the search results and sent nudges to the ladies who looked interesting. I guess I better go back through and message them since many of them apparently aren't visiting the site often. I have a date lined up for Friday night, should be fun, nothing gianteous, play pool, chat...but a new lady I've talked with for a few weeks now and am looking forware to meeting. I work weekends at the flea market, so that're my plans for the weekend. Monday is my Saturday and in these BullDog Days of Summer (hadda make a ref to the Bulldog in the speed-o, lol), I'm pretty bushed on Monday from the heat even though I close the shops early now, around 2PM. have you tried these little suckers? got 8% alcohol in 'em Humm I'm trying one of these right now. I guess if you could get past the first one the rest would be okay...Kind of reminds me a bit of 7up with lots of lime just not something I would get again... My daughters fiance likes them they are just not to my taste buds But they do have a kick to them And yeah I do like me a good margarita this is close to that taste just a bit different to me.. |

Evening everyone~~~~~~ Anybody have anything planned for this weekend? Good evening, Kristi! ...since it appears I may not be flooded out of Friday and Saturday night birthday parties, I'll be taking my new hair out for a little celebration and dancing on both days. I also have a friend coming over for brunch on Saturday and a pre-trip meeting on Sunday. In the in between, I'll workout and quilt on a commission project I'm working on. So just how do I manage to mix in Mingle??? It's because YA'LL ARE SPECIAL TO ME! |

Hi Kristi --
I started this flea market 2 years ago come this Sept. in a storage unit facility out East of McKinney about 15 miles, other side of Princeton and Farmersville. It's almost exactly between Greenville and McKinney. The first year we did great. I have 90 venders by that May. Then the convenience store in front burned down and that leeched a lot of traffic away. Then the owner stopped following the contract he has with me to run it, stopped running ads, stopped maintaining the grounds, well, he basically let it all go to crap. Of course, that started us losing customers then venders, then more customers, it spiraled down. He hired me to rebuild the convenience store, nice contract project manager for the construction. I had it up and open 4 months from when he hired me. Well, in a nutshell he STILL refused to follow the contract with me, no advertising, no ground maintenence, the place looks abandoned. So, while I did get a rush of new venders in the Spring, it was curtailed by lack of customers brought about by no ads. At this point, we have 50 venders, but now I'm lucky to get 4 to open on the weekends and I think when my contract runs out in Sept. I'm going to bail out and set up somewhere new. Maybe I'll rent a building in a high-traffic area and set up an Antique Mall, where venders rent by the sq. ft. and I provide a cashier (probably me). I'm looking at 3 locations for that now. Of course, I know enough venders to fill it fairly quick. They all like me and know that it was the owner who killed the flea market, not me. Anyhow, like you needed all that! lol Bob |

We use to have a indoor one here that was just a few blocks away but it did not make it.. It ended up too many of the venders were all new stuff... So only went a few times... If you get the crowd it can be a good business to get into.. |
