Or do most of the members on here seem to be from up north? I'm from Florida around Tallahassee and not many people from this area....or at least that have been on here in the last day or so.

It's world wide. You're not just fishing from a small pond, like you would locally, you're fishing in an ocean now. You can find people who are at least some what local, most of the time. This is a large site and it is always growing. Participate in the forums and be patient. If you don't find many locals now, give it some time, more locals may join. You can always encourage others to join by sharing the URL to your profile. ;)
