Australia announces new Syria sanctions

Foreign Minister Bob Carr has announced new Australian sanctions on Syria to raise the pressure on the Assad regime to end the bloodshed.

The sanctions restrict or prohibit trade between Syria and Australia in oil, petroleum, financial services, telecommunications and precious metals.

They're in addition to an existing arms embargo and financial and travel sanctions on individuals and entities associated with the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

Said to Aid in Steering Arms to Syrian Opposition," confirms what many have already long known - that the West, led by the US and its Gulf State proxies, have been arming terrorists, particularly the Muslim Brotherhood, while berating the Syrian government for "violating" a UN mandated ceasefire and for "failing to protect" its population.

A small number of C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey,

helping allies decide which Syrian opposition fighters across the

border will receive arms to fight the Syrian government, according to

American officials and Arab intelligence officers.

It doesn't say the arms are coming from the US. They are coming from the Saudis and Qatar.

Yes, he is twisting the story. I posted the original on another thread and it stated that the CIA are 'SAID' to be in Turkey monitoring the flow of arms from the Saudis & Qatar. Hardly, anything to worry about, as the CIA are just concerned that the weapons may flow on to Al-Quaeda.
