Going to go hunt for extra henna and some groceries for the salad... Inshallah... Need a chopping knife too... Kinda didn't want to be all "terrorist"-y and bring a knife on the road...

Record this: 10:20pm and the men are going to bed while the women are still up, freezing, waiting for the smoke in our cabin to clear after metalwing decided to play caveman and set a fire in our room.
Thank you boys! ;) |

Palo Duro Canyon
We’ll look back through this lens of azure vast panning majestic grace where fragile layers embedded between ancient formations are carved out ruins exposed by wind and time. How Autumn’s quilt laid out surprises of golds, burnished leaves beginning their turn mixing with red clay swatch cut-outs of the canyon floor spotted here and there by gnarly mesquite poised near boulders and ground brush. Where echo sounds the distance realizing silence lives to thrive here compelling one into its soothe knowing lonely calm has found a home to heal. If ever there was comfort in the dark it is here under this canopy of still. Glimmering stars, winking and blinking from their height. Whispers of breeze teasing around the chilly huddles wrapped in their blankets in awe of this wonder transition. We will look back and remember sweet. As for me, I will recall how my heart filled with such love as the realization of past conversations etched on an invisible thread came alive, resounding deeply of laughter, faces warmth, connected friendship. How time and space bridged a chasm needing, hope, voice where once only silence. That, unconditional was possible, That the reality of survival and who we are, what we say to each other cannot be faked. I saw you with my own eyes. Love, SadieLu©2012 |
