Japan Earthquake 2012: 6.4 Magnitude Quake Strikes Off Southeast Coast

TOKYO, June 18 (Reuters) - A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Japan early on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, but there were no immediate reports of damage.

USGS put the quake 115 km (72 miles) southeast of Morioka on Japan's Pacific coast, and 31 km deep.

The Japan Meteorological Agency put it at magnitude 6.1, and slightly deeper at 40 km (25 miles).

The quake was rated only 4 on Japan's seven-point seismic scale, suggesting that no significant damage was expected, and no tsunami warning was issued.

Darn it, they were just getting ready to fire up the Nuclear reactors too.sick

Japan rocks and rumbles everyday, all day long.
The media doesn't talk about it unless it's at least a 6.0.
They just had three .. 4.7's in the same spot the other day.

There are people sick from radiation, hair falling out,
bloody noses everyday...yet the crisis is continually played down.

There are still thousands homeless and missing.
The city streets are buckling and sinking.

I feel sorry for the Japanese people.

I don't think it's that bad. I lived in Japan recently. I was living there during the big quake. I still have friends there both Japanese and foreigners. I haven't heard anything recently that would suggest thongs are bad.

Which part isn't "that bad?"

I have never been there.
I get my news from alternative sources,
and a friend that is there now.

It's "that bad" if your one of the ones still affected buy it.
