Hi Everyone. I finally have a weekend off. I spent yesterday swimming at my friend Stu's house and he made homemade pizza in his brick oven. It is funny how we met here on Mingle and though it wasn't a love match we became the best of friends. Today I visited my old neighbors and it was nice to sit and chat for awhile. Now I am trying to figure out what to pack for NY for the 4th. I am spending a few days with my boys and my son's girlfriend's family. I have been invited on the grandfather's 60ft yacht to watch the fireworks over Manhattan. It is fun to see how the rich live every once in awhile. What are you all doing for the holiday? Sounds like a terrific weekend, Jayne! So glad you are having fun. Enjoy your time in NY! I'm theoretically going to a movie and to see fireworks here in town...not 100% sure. The kids and I go over to the x's and do fireworks it is out in Fort Bend so you can set off fire works there. He'll probably cook dinner. You want to join us let me know. I like that better than getting out in the big crowds. There is a Gulf course my where Jenn lives that has fire works. Will be able to see those.

Instead of removing the kick-plate on the bottom of the dishwasher and finding god-only-knows-what to clean before laying a tile...I've decided to put the whole thing off until tomorrow. Instead, I put a "possum pie"in the oven. No possums involved. (That's what I call my version of a fruit pie using whatever I had on hand...this one includes apricots, apples, pears, and about a half a dozen strawberries, spices that look just right and a couple spoonfuls of brown sugar.) It will be delicious. Got to test your pies at Joes

What are you all doing for the holiday? Looks like I'll be meeting a half-dozen or more friends on the north side of town for food, music and fireworks. Groovy! As much as I have to really psyche myself up for crowds and heat and mosquitoes, I think I should never get too O-L-D to appreciate the fireworks. For me it's a bit of that "living each moment" thing - regardless of how many times I've seen them or where, or how fabulous other displays were.

UGH! I just finished about an hour of "Prove It" tests for a recruiter. It's about the 3rd time I've had to do these and they are ridiculous...and long... Tonight I'm going to go take a 2-step class so I can learn to follow. I don't want to step on a partner, ya know? Carol says she'll do the same after PD. Then look out, Houston! We'll both be out boot-scootin'!

I was with "new" friends from the weekend and a great rodeo pal. Not sure the "new" friends are keepers, as I don't feel a real chemistry with them like with some of you. Oh well, time will tell. Ended up splitting with the rodeo pal and going to Sephora at the mall. Then I went to Home Depot. What...not related you say? Spackle is spackle! Hahahaha! I keep telling people I'm not like the other girls :)

Since I missed the first class they give free lessons at Wild West on Sunday at 4 to 6:30 so going. Want to meet there?

Crap now I remember why I held off on the dance class no just PDC but that home owners meeting is Monday night. Crap going to have to for go dance. Still might do Wild West on Sunday.
