Greeting im trying to find decend javascript training material to download for free. Ifyou found something nice please email me. Thankyou for your help I haven't read this specific book, but O'Reilly generally publishes excellent books: http://shop.oreilly.com/product/9780596521882.do Edit: My bad - this doesn't answer your question. I read your question, got distracted by something else, started daydreaming about some materials I've gotten for free in the past, through of how great O'Reilly's books are, and posted this possibly useless answer. It's like getting help from a cat. |

Yeah my web design class had me going to the w3c as well. It does have good simple coding practice for beginners. On the other hand
is my college text book.. True OReilly does publish a good book; however, they are slightly dated code wise. Meaning that if the code does not work you are left to wonder if it is a mistake or just old code (happens every once in a while). With more current books you can pinpoint the source to your code providing you have the latest edition. If you want I can download the first two chapters from my school but thats all I can do electronically via download. Hope this helps. |

are you just trying to learn javascript or java, java c++
cause their is 100's of tutorials online that's not a book but a test where you will type out a line and then once you type that line it says a few questions like if you understand it, try again, next step etc. |

True the online tutorials are pretty nice... kind of tedious work though as good of an idea as they are... for some reason it's doubtful many will complete them... on the other hand my school text books give a strong working knowledge of any type of material ( I tend to finish books more then I do tutorials but I am a strong reader) That site is good ... I downloaded an entire book on Java networking (web internet related material)... I am making Java chat & file servers and browsers ect..) so it is a good addition to my read list. |
