The Eagles. 1977 at the old Capital Centre in Landover, MD.
Hotel California Tour. This was the old days. I remember hearing a security guard telling a guy,"Yea, you can smoke dope just stay outta the aisles". Jimmy Buffett opened. Quite a show all the way around. |

Wow.....
Eagles....Slayer.... My life feels hollow and empty now....thanks. Sigh...sniffle...snot bubble.... The last BIG show we had in my town (Abilene, Tx) was Jackyl...10 minutes into the show, the PD cut the power to the giant horse pavillion cause the neighbors were griping about the noise.... Obviously, they won't be back. |

Mine was 1977. I was 11. I went to Taylor County Collesium (Abilene Texas) It was Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever" tour. My brother and his friends got high...(I didn't know how to do that yet) They were 16. Then we went in and it started. I was up against the stage. Two really cool dudes rom the airforce picked me up and held me up for most of the show. It was a milestone in my life. It was a great time. I also got to see KISS, RUSH, ZZ TOP and AC/DC, (they all played once a year)...plus Metallica (...and Justice for All), Big Country, Duran Duran back in those day....... That was back when I was a kid. Who did you go see? Slayer was the headliner act, but there were several other bands there that I forget. It was at Club Rio. Kerry King is scarier in person, I promise. |

Wow,i'm amazed by all the great bands everyone has seen.As it seems that most people on here are from the states i thought mybe this would be slightly different for you.
My first was UFO at leeds Queens hall,an old bus depot if my memory serves me right, now a car park.A week later was Motorhead bomber tour, unfortunatly the venue was too small to be able to run the the bomber but still looked cool. This was at Leeds university refectory, the same venue that the legendry 'The Who live in Leeds was recorded. Both were in late 1979 i was 12 at the time but was already loving music and ended up running my own lightshow of wich i still do. |

The Monkees Reunion Tour, 1985. I was 12 years old and The Monkees (along with Herman's Hermits, Grass Roots and a couple other bands) played the Mobile Civic Center. My parents nurtured my music variety. At the time, I was into 80's music, glam metal, heavy metal, rap. But I also loved classic rock, country, 50's music and 70's disco. So, watching a concert of bands that I didn't know (exception being The Monkees, as I knew their music) wasn't beyond me and I really liked the show. Not ashamed to admit this as my first show as it led me to concert-itis. Lol. Now, my all time favorite show is KISS. Saw them on their reunion tour in 2000 and they kicked azz. Ted Nugent opened for them and that man is freaking awesome live.
