I agree with you. Workaholics are as bad as people who can't hold a job because they don't want it ..there has to be a good balance between work and play.

I was in a 10 year relationship with someone that was on a significantly lower salary than I was at the time but it was my happiest and longest relationship to date.

Prior to that, I was in a 6 year relationship with someone that was on a significantly higher salary than me and that was an ok relationship and he is, to this day, my best and closest friend.

So answer to your question...what it boils down to is compatibility, not how much money he earns.
