Silently she screams
"Why won't you stop?" Your actions are hurting her She watches her little boys who were once sweet and innocent Become more and more like their father With each passing day She is your mother and yet you are unphased By the tears you can so often see in her eyes Silently she screams Pounding her fists against the pillow Why God? Why throw this pain upon my mother? Has she not suffered enough? First at the hands of her own father Then at the hands of mine And yet these boys you have punished her with Beat her down emotionally until she is too tired to care Finally she screams "Can't anyone hear my prayer?" Nearly twenty-one her days are spent alone Making her feel some days as if her life were almost gone In some ways it is Constantly being stabbed by their razor sharp tounges And words that hit her like two ton bricks Silently she screams "Why can't you stop?" Your words cut like knives Inflicting wounds that may never completely heal Silently she screams "Oh God please tell me you have heard my prayer" I do not know how much longer i can make it alone |
