I tend to agree with you Davinci on the issue of news that falls outside of the box. People do not want to hear anything foreign to their way of thinking.

Rush may speak for us but he is myopic. He sees what is right in front of his face, if he wants to see it. Most likely there is a list of things he wants to see which is managed by others somehow. Putting him in a gov't job is no better than hiring another demagogue. He may be "right" but he misses the point most of the time.

On the other hand Alan Combs not 'right', and he probably would misspell 'wrong' just to show that he is cuddling to the beat of a different drum. He couldn't get a passing grade of over 20 percent with a full night's sleep and a good breakfast.

As for the Federal Reserve which I know is one of your topics, good luck on that one. The arguments refuting your comments are well polished and the details of the operation of the reserve are too well ensconced in legitimacy. When you build a system of bricks then taking it apart is a slow process. The foundation can not always be clearly seen and identified. To knock out the cornerstone you'll have to dig deeper. Unfortunately the sources for anti-fed information are not up to the task. Otherwise they would have more success.

As for gold standard. I consider it unreasonable, much like having a diamond standard. I have no use for diamonds. I wouldn't give you anything more than I could expect to sell one for immediately. Because nobody I know wants to buy a diamond today it would be pointless. If I were to buy a diamond today for $1,000 I would be relatively certain I could sell it for $150 or with luck $200. I'll take my payment in the form of something I can use.

Our governmental process is driven by media and lobby. Moneyed interests step up to the soap box and pay for the microphone. They do so constantly and spend enormous amounts to shape, not only the public perception, but the topics covered in current events. So long as you can control both the items being discussed on a large scale and the direction of the discussion you will be able to keep undesirable issues out of the limelight and promote your agenda. "Red herrings ain't in it." It takes a lot of effort and funding to stoke up the fire of public discourse, but once it is burning smoothly you just have to keep adding fuel.

good job philosopher. made a lot of sense.
only thing to add is there is so much that goes on that we have no knowledge of that we can only get our opinions based on the information we are allowed to know.
that could be a bad thing but i know for a fact there are things going on between governmeants that i/we don't need to know about.

if you all want the truth?

our entire government needs to be overhauled! we have elections coming up and a chance for both parties to make a change. I see bumper stickers in Tucson on the backs of cars owned by Dems and filthy libs that say "regime change begins at home" and they're right! so vote against your parties incumbent you can stay within your party but vote for the other guy in your party. that way we can send a message to all that we will not accept the crap that we are all receiving right now. I dont like Bush I think he and John McCain, Jon Kyl, Chuck Schumer, boxer, Clinton, Pelosi, Kennedy, Feinstein, reid and others are sell outs and should be rewarded with a firing come next election. the war is going to go on wether you like it or not bush is in his last days of office so all this *****ing is typical whiney liberal crap that wont change a god damn thing so take it from george sorros and "move on"!

Hey, davinci - Don't mind these feebs who still trust their govt.
at this late stage; anyone who doesn't realise by now
that giving this administration any power or credibility is like
giving the keys of a Lamborghini to a drunk teenager is willfully
delusional.
