How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power
London Guardian | September 25 2004 Rumours of a link between the US first family and the Nazi war machine have circulated for decades. Now the Guardian can reveal how repercussions of events that culminated in action under the Trading with the Enemy Act are still being felt by today's president. George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany. The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism. His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy. The evidence has also prompted one former US Nazi war crimes prosecutor to argue that the late senator's action should have been grounds for prosecution for giving aid and comfort to the enemy. The debate over Prescott Bush's behaviour has been bubbling under the surface for some time. There has been a steady internet chatter about the "Bush/Nazi" connection, much of it inaccurate and unfair. But the new documents, many of which were only declassified last year, show that even after America had entered the war and when there was already significant information about the Nazis' plans and policies, he worked for and profited from companies closely involved with the very German businesses that financed Hitler's rise to power. It has also been suggested that the money he made from these dealings helped to establish the Bush family fortune and set up its political dynasty. more here: http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/september2004/250904helpedhitler.htm |

The Business Plot, The Plot Against FDR, or The White House Putsch, was an uncovered conspiracy involving several wealthy businessmen to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933.
Purported details of the matter came to light when retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler testified before a Congressional committee that a group of men had attempted to recruit him to serve as the leader of a plot and to assume and wield power once the coup was successful. Butler testified before the McCormack-****stein Committee in 1934 [1]. In his testimony, Butler claimed that a group of several men had approached him as part of a plot to overthrow Roosevelt in a military coup. One of the alleged plotters, Gerald MacGuire, vehemently denied any such plot. In their final report, the Congressional committee supported Butler's allegations on the existence of the plot,[2] but no prosecutions or further investigations followed, and the matter was mostly forgotten. General Butler claimed that the American Liberty League was the primary means of funding the plot. The main backers were the Du Pont family, as well as leaders of U.S. Steel, General Motors, Standard Oil, Chase National Bank, and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. A BBC documentary claims Prescott Bush, father and grandfather to the 41st and 43rd US Presidents respectively, was also connected.[3] more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Plot |

Well, the rotten apple doesn't fall far from the tree, now does it? Granpappy, for all intents and purposes, worked with the Nazis, George H.W. was a dunderhead, and S*** Stain inherited the worst qualities of both of them. And before any neocons here(and you know who you are) write in to bash me because I hate Bush, well, you're absolutely right. The only reason I say "hate" is because I can't think of a stronger word. Look at the history of this clown show laughingly referred to as "The Bush Administration". Hell, ANY American, regardless of political affiliation shouls hate these morons.Whether a Democrat or Republican wins in 2008, I feel sorry for them, because they're gonna have one hell of a mess to clean up. Forget impeachment. S*** Stain, Cheney, Rice, Rove, Rummy, and the rest ought to be hauled up on treason charges!

and isn't it fortuitous that baby bush has just implemented the very tools that will make it EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO SPEAK FREELY about such things.

well the news is a catch 22 situation
they report the news (say virg tech) they are 24 hour stations now so it is like glamorizing the event thus others copy it then it gets reported again and so on and so on back when the news was one maybe 3 hours a day the stuff still happened but it was not glorified (or appear glorified) thus the copy cats were not as likely to copy but hey what do i know |

Why don't you also post the fact that Joe Kennedy daddy of Jack, Ted and Bobby was recalled as ambassador to England because of his support of the Nazi Regime as Hitler was coming to power or that Joe Kennedy mad his fortune as a bootleger and rum runner during prohibition. That had little bearing on their political status, why should what Bush's grandpa have any bearing on what he does. If you dig back far enough you might find that both are related to Atilla the Hun. But tell me exactly what point it serves except character assination. I am sure that everyone has an ancestor or two that did something that today would be considered unpopular, are we all to be condemed for the actions of our forefathers? I have a friend who came over from Germany when he was 16, he served with the First Cav in Viet Nam, his father was in the German Army in WWII and he died on the Russian Front. Does this make my friend a Nazi? Have we now extablished guilt by association as a viable legal concept?
Davinci you whine that some of us brush off your "factual" news posts as conspiracy theories when the news sources you use have all the credibility and integrity of the National Inquirer. How callous of us. Then you come up with the poor me Swan Song, gee I guess nobody likes me so I will pick up my marbles and go home in hopes of getting people to beg you to stay. That was just lame. This is a current events forum, you post your opinions and take your lumps. This may come as a shock, but a goodly portion of the world does not share your beliefs nor do they share mine, but I don't run around sniveling when someone disagrees with me. |

gee garden...sounds like you want to make this personal....did I call you out by name anywhere?
and yeah..know all about the Kennedys history..except they are not in power trying to destroy this country right now... Alex...thanks...I'm certain I'm on any list they may have ...oh well |
|
|
|
nothing personal davinci, I just take exception to people who dramatic swan song posts. While that bubble head Teddy is in congress the Kennedys still wield power and had he not managed to kill a girl while driving drunk, he may have had even more power. As for destroying this country, gee I think that's where the conspiracy theory comes in go grow a set of cojones and quit whinning.

well this is good and fun.
its easy to set here at home and judge the government, be it any countries based on what you read and hear via the media. reality sucks sometimes but heres a cold hard reality. there is much more then what we will ever hear going on in the world, some good, some bad, depends on your view. we will never be told everything because most of us couldn't handle it and i agree with that. for example, and not a theory, does anyone know how we identified the marines killed in beruit in the 80's after they couldn't be identified by pictures o dental records? next thing i'll hear, and i enjoy a good conversation is how the masons are teking over the world. |

davinci,
ted will never be president, something about a lady in a car in the water dead. most of the world calls that vehiclular homicide. not to mention leaving the scene of an accident. ted used up all the good will his brothers deaths could have given him. he's still a loud mouth idiot in my opinion. as a kennedy, he had the key to the kingdom so to speak and pissed it away. |
|
|
|
never impressed with ted...he does enuf damage as senator

Every family has that one individual they'd rather keep hidden. The Bushes have W, who's proving to be the embarrasment everyone thought he'd be(Jeb seems like he got the sense in that family), and the Kennedy's have Ted(oboy)who trots out in his perpetually drunken state, and shows his ignorance simply by opening his mouth.
What's the difference between John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton? Kennedy had a MUCH better taste in mistresses. I mean, Marilyn Monroe vs Monica Lewinski. Be honest, who would YOU choose? |
