Topic: A good year for geeks. | |
---|---|
So, this year there's "The Avengers" coming out, "The Amazing Spider-Man", and the much anticipated "The Dark Knight Rises".
As a long-time fan of the comics and characters, I'd call this a good year (film-wise) for any other geeks. Anyone else feel the same? Discuss. |

Pretty excited about the dark knight and avengers. Not so much Spider man. It lookks good but just catch it when it comes out on tv. I just don't like it when they reboot a movie after a couple of years. And look at the new spider man.
You mean to tell me he would be geek instead of a jock? |

Parker's always been a geek, of course.
The reboot unfortunately was inevitable. Sony would have lost the rights if they didn't reboot. |

Spiderman a jock? Wut.
The Avengers looks epic. Also, I haven't seen Ghost Rider yet, but haven't really heard any positive or negative reviews. And the new Underworld is coming soon, if I'm not mistaken. Yes. |

Its just the way he looks. Into days world(Okay well I mean the movie world) I don't think he wouldn't be considered a geek. I just think they need to find someone who looks like one.
I hear a terminator reboot is in the future. James cameron should of never gave the scirpt away. |

The new Underworld is out already I believe.
I wish I could be interested in Ghost Rider, but... they somewhat rebooted yet kept Nicholas Cage as him... what the f-ck. Granted Cage might not have been what went wrong with the first Ghost Rider, but he was still not right for it. |

Nic Cage is a huge fan of Ghost Rider so I think they would have to kill him before they could get someone else in the role.

I have to say that I was really disappointed with the first Ghost Rider film which began and ended with Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes.
I don’t have high hopes for the 2nd film Spirit of Vengence for the very same reason but will watch regardless. I wonder if the film(s) would have ever been made if he (Nicolas Cage) hadn’t been involved...either way, he should have done a Blade and not made a PG-13 rated film. Thankfully, I’ve still got the Xmen (although wasn’t thrilled with First Class), Wolverine, the Iron Man’s - yay, gotta love me some Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey Jr - the Batman’s (yeah, even Michael Keaton ones) and the Spiderman films to give me faith in the comic book to big screen transition. Although Capt America and the Fantastic Four weren’t totally terrible...the FF films I enjoyed just because they were just on the good side of bad. I'm holding my breath that the Avengers flick won't be an ego fest |

Superman and Superman II still remain my favorite superhero flicks.

Superman 2 is my all time fav out of the Superman films but also liked Superman Returns (2006).

For the more recent ones I've enjoyed- Spider Man 1 and 2, Thor, Captain America, Dark Knight Returns, all of the X-Men movies, The Incredible Hulk '08, Iron Man 1 and 2, Watchmen, Kick Azz.

Although Capt America and the Fantastic Four weren’t totally terrible...the FF films I enjoyed just because they were just on the good side of bad. For so bad it's good super hero flick- nothing beats Fantastic Four, but not the one from the 2000's, the one from 1994: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_X5C6e3ZeY |

I love Flash Gordon, the 80's movie, and the old clunky serials with Buster Crabbe.
Another great bad superhero-fest: Legends Of The Superheroes, only in the 70's would they try to make a variety show with superheroes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWyGdUVg-D0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zRQzHdAt2c |

Ah. I have to go see Underworld then. I enjoyed the first 3, I hope the new one doesn't ruin what they have going. It works.
Terminator needs to just stay retired. Ghost Rider...eh. Is it bad that I didn't hate the first one? I plan on seeing Spirit of Vengeance just because. I'll feel empty inside. Idk, I've always liked Spiderman more than Superman. Superman's great and all, we get it, you've got awesome powers dude, sweet... But Spiderman has the whole underdog thing going on. Eh. He does whine alot though. There's a Green Lantern movie? Oh. |

Don't get me started on Green Lantern...Ryan Reynolds..
Couldn't even bring myself to watch the Green Hornet. |

Don't get me started on Green Lantern...Ryan Reynolds.. I don't understand if this is good or bad. Also...I...liked...Green Hornet. Bad..but this is coming from someone that disliked Kick Azz, Scott Pilgrim, Sucker punch and a couple of other of that ilk that I've erased from my memory If anyone mentions that they liked The Spirit, I may just loose the will to live |
