Topic: GOOGLE IMAGES AND PHOTOBUCKET

Im hoping one of my brilliant peeps here can answer this question for me.

I use "Google Images", for my pictures 3/4 of the time.

When I see a picture I want, and look at the size of the picture, it will tell me for example that its 1053 X 1407.

Then I upload it to Photobucket, and take it to the shop,(as I call it) to resize it, or decorate it, and when I hit resize the image is only 194 X 260.

So then I have to enlarge it, and that almost always blurs it.

I use the sharpening tool, but then it makes it look funky.

Why does it tell you one size at "Google Images", and then ends up being another size,(almost always wayyyyyyyy smaller) after I upload it to Photobucket????

It sounds almost like you are attempting to
upload a 'thumbnail.'
The thumbnail picture may show its regular
size listed, but you have to click on the
larger image to get that one.

In other words, you are clicking on the
thumbnail to save it, but you need to GO
to the larger image to capture that one.

Go to account settings, then click on "view upload options." There you can choose what size you want your photos resized to.

Ok,

My images are set to upload at their recommended setting, 1024 X ?.

I think what Sofie said is what I need to do though.

Emily,

since you know about Photobucket....

Is there any way to make it easier to find certain pictures in Photobucktet, in your albums, then to have to try to figure how recent they were downloaded, and start looking through them all?

Unless they changed it since the last time I was on photobucket, I think you can have more than one album of photos on photobucket. (kind of like having different file folders.) I have not messed with it myself since I only have one page of photos there. It will just take time to make different albums.

I have 80 pictures, and add more every day.

The easiest way is to set up a different Album
for each group of pictures.
Like, maybe a mingle Album, a FB one, wherever
you post them from.

You can go to "organize" then sort by newest, oldest, file name or title. Does that help?

Photobucket is pretty easy to manage albums, unlike Facebook. It's 1024 x 768 btw...

Use Win7 SNIP tool to crop the image and save in a file on your desktop. I use it for web based graphics programs where they want you to upgrade, such as Yahoo's

Once an image is saved it distorts as a .jpeg file regardless. Sharpest is the .png file save. Great for thumbs.

I've never had to set image size on Photobucket because I import at 640 x 480 and reduce by 50% to 320 x 240 and go from there. Sharpness is maintained at that smaller resolution.

Photobucket will let you save as new or write over the file. I just save as new file and keep a master and kick the masters out to flash.
