Just came across a news.
A 9 years old student died of fear when his class teacher locked & left him alone inside a classroom as a punishment for not completing homework. Don't know whether that so called teacher forgot to take him out latter or left him intentionally there alone after school closure, but poor child lost his life. May god bless his soul with peace for ever & adore some affection in the hearts of everyone for innocent children. |

If that was my youngest son..I would def. be in prison the rest of my life,(if the remains were found )...but it would be worth it. |

You are right sherri,
If this would have happened due to my mistake,I must have ended my life. Even if he forgot to take him out,I don't consider it as an accident. No one has any right to punish any child with such cruelty. |

yea, I would like to know more.
Not understanding how if the building was closed.. where were the parents? Would they have not gone looking for their child when he/she didn't come home after school? |

That's what I want to know. And what the child died of. Because i don't believe "fright" would be listed on the death certificate. |

Did loo punishment kill 6-year-old boy?
Anita Singh, TNN | Feb 22, 2012, 05.33AM IST Article 6-yr-old traumatized for not doing homework, dies KARNAL: The family members of a six-year-old dalit ( backward classes) boy have alleged that their kid, who was locked for several hours in his school bathroom for failing to turn in his homework, suffered a trauma that created severe health complications leading to his death more than a month after the punishment was meted out. The parents of Pankaj Singh told reporters after his death on Saturday night that he had been sick since he was incarcerated in the washroom in his Karnal school and never recovered . Jaiveer and Reena Singh alleged that their child was found by his elder brother Sagar lying unconscious in the bathroom. Ever since, he was unwell. "After remaining ill for over 55 days, Pankaj died on Saturday night," said the boy's paternal uncle Mahipal Singh. The district administration said it is yet to receive any complaint from the parents of the boy and are thus unable to take action against the teacher or the school authorities. Pankaj was locked by his teacher in a bathroom for several hours on December 27 for failing to complete his homework. "The boy remained in a state of shock due to the inhuman treatment given to him by the teacher. His relatives said that after being treated, Pankaj could attend school for just one day before plunging into depression again," said Mahipal Singh. School manager Bablu Rana said the child was suffering from some disease and ultimately succumbed to it, which is denied by Pankaj's parents . When contacted, deputy commissioner Neelam Kasni said the administration has not received any complaint from the parents. |

Poor kid must have felt totally abandoned, what a horrible thing for him to go through. I can see how this fear could manifest into sickness.... Terrible, my heart goes out to his family. The teacher needs a punch in the face... |

While I agree that that is a terrible punishment and I wouldn't tolerate the school doing that to my child, I find it very hard to believe it caused his death a month later. Unless he caught some deadly virus while he was in there, which is possible I suppose.
I am not saying this didn't cause him trauma depression. Nor I am condoning the behaviour in any way, shape or form. But, I am sure it did not cause his death. Autopsy needed. |

I dont see it as excessive, but would look deeper into the environment outside the school that would make something like that so scary to him (IF he actually died of fear and not something else altogether) |

Being locked in the bathroom is excessive though(worse than an entire classroom as I first interpreted). |

Out here, you tie the idiot to the rear bumper and drag em down gravel roads. Whatever is left gets thrown down a well or thrown into a cactus for the coyotes and buzzards.
Actually, they would probably be shot....they would leave the state due to survival instincts. That is one of the good things about EVERYONE having guns. |

Apparently he was 6, not 9. Also, the reference to "backward" makes me assume he had Downs or some other cognitive problem. But there's a lot we can't tell from this side of the world. Whether it caused his death in any way or not, it was still a heartless punishment.

Actually, after reading the time frame and seeing the bathroom part.....makes me think the kid may have contracted staph (staphylocauccus) or encephalitis. Both are found in fecal matter that has had exposure to oxygen ....require a short incubation time.....and are generally fatal within 30 days.
(Stuff I had to learn for my job) .....still....I would probably just gut shoot that idiot. |
