I was wondering if any one has being scam here on mingle . I like to hear your stories well for me i bought a plane ticket for a girl from europe but she never show up, i was left waiting at the airport with flowers. Maybe i am the only idiot lol.

You are not an idiot.
 It has happened to many people. As a general rule you never want to send money to someone you have met online. If they ask for money, even if it's for a plane ticket to come see you, it's a scam.
Just consider it a hard lesson learned and keep looking for your sweetheart. |

Unscrupulous people take advantage of the good hearted. Trust your gut,if something feels wrong it usually is. Live and learn.

Usually they will come on strong and are in a hurry. Never give them your personal email and IM address. Look for errors in their grammer and spelling. Don't feel bad though. The first 5 "posibilities" or hits that I got were scammers. Pick you head up and do some research. romancescam.com is a great site to learn the signs to look for.

You're not the first or the last to fall for such. If you have learned how to spot them better, then you didn't really lose, it was more of a costly lesson is all. |

No matter how clued up we think we are to scammers, they (scammers) are getting more and more inventive. I got caught out not too long ago by one. It was a fake photo and it was only after talking to him on the phone (my mobile) that I realised the accent didn’t belong to the photo or place where he said he was from...you live, you learn

I had a chick on here send me an email stating that she wanted to "Make the love thingy with me and be sex". I immediately got a hotel room in Prague and flew over and waited patiently for my love blossom. Alas...she never arrived. And I have been scarred ever since.

well at least you want be flying off to see anymore girls anytime soon. take it as a lesson learned and move on.

What did you eventually wind up doing with the flowers, First Poster? They will go up steeply in value on Valentine's day, so if they keep for another two or four days, you can turn them over for a HUGE profit.
