Topic: WHY CARE ABOUT HOW YOU LOOK? | |
---|---|
Seriously everyone, just keep a clear and open mind that everyone is different. So who cares what others think of you. Everyone has different perspectives on other people, but that's what makes life interesting. I mean if everyone looked the same or like the same exact thing then the world would just be a total bore. It seems to me as if most of the people here are insecure but there's no need to be because its a big world filled with many people and at least one person out there will love and accept you for who you are.

I always find it humorous when somebody who has pictures of themselves where they are wearing items of clothing and hairstyles etc that are designed to make them look good, are asking why people care about how people look. Oh the irony :D

Oh the irony :D ...that's her style, what she's comfortable in. She is also, evidently, comfortable in her own skin. ..or would it only be acceptable for you if she made the comment and looked like a caveman? |

Well like I said people have different perspectives. It's not ironic, its more of an opinion. And obviously that's your opinion on this topic. Just because I wear certain clothes or wear my hair up a certain way doesn't necesarily mean that everyone is going to think I look good. There are people out there who think I'm not their type. That's what I'm trying to get at. Everyone has different opinions.

I really don't care what anybody thinks of me either I live my life the way I want to live it most importantly I love myself and self love is the best love there is . |

Well my point or opinion or just plain and simple advice: love and be yourself everyone! Because at one point you're bound to find someone that can love and accept you for who you are! Well good night or good morning everyone, whatever time it is in your world =)

It's morning for both of us...

..or would it only be acceptable for you if she made the comment and looked like a caveman? Cavemen did care about how they looked. They used to decorate themselves with trophies from kills as well as paint themselves with dyes etc. |

Not the friendliest profile.
Feels negative when you tell people what you expect them to feel. Pretty pictures. Best of luck :-) |

..I think she means simply the features you cannotchange.
Fashion, style, etc, is on you. Plastic surgery, etc, that's different. Being comfortable in your own skin. |

I think such trophies were probably used to show off skill rather than to make themselves visually attractive. Whilst true it was a show of skill, back then the ability to kill, and defend the tribe would have been considered attractive, so the sight of such trophies would have seemed visually attractive also. How tastes change... although people do like someone with a nice scar still. |

Oh the irony :D So, someone who happens to look good shouldn't think that people shouldn't be insecure? Or worry so much about how they look? |

So, someone who happens to look good shouldn't think that people shouldn't be insecure? Or worry so much about how they look? The moment you point out they look good you are invalidating their argument :) |

The moment you point out they look good you are invalidating their argument :) Ah, so you believe only ugly people should think others shouldn't be insecure. Odd way of looking at things. Some people like confidence. It's attractive. Insecurity is not. |

I care about my appearance to please me. So others opinion of it doesn't make no never mind. |

Ah, so you believe only ugly people should think others shouldn't be insecure. Odd way of looking at things. If you're labelling people as 'ugly' and 'looking good' then you're disagreeing with what she was trying to say, and you're judging people by their looks, which is what she was trying to say you shouldn't be doing or caring about when people do. |

the human race always has cared about how they look and always will and to be honest i dont see the problem as long as its not used as a tactic to belittle somebody. Inherantly there is nothing wrong about being concerned about the way you look, otherwise we'd all look like we walked off jeremy kyle
