I think it really depends on what you're looking for. For me, I would like to find people to actually meet in person easily, rather than just chatting for a long time. This site doesn't make that very easy, as there really aren't many nearby. I LOVE the forums here and my friends. But, I agree with you on this Emily. I would like to date. Go out and actually meet guys face to face. It helps to be able to meet sooner rather than later. That way, you don't build them up in your mind to be one way, then find out they're not quite what you were thinking. |

Everyone does things differently. You met via a dating site. There's nothing wrong with that. These sites are just another way to meet people. Yes, met on a social/dating site. A site that neither of us was using for dating. We just..talked. Then made a permanent connection :-) |

I would never eliminate someone due to geographical location. But, I feel a need to broaden my horizons. Expand my universe, in a matter of speaking. |

If I really, really hit it off with someone who was far away, I might give it a shot. But right now, that's not what works for me. I don't have the money to travel back and forth a lot to get to know someone.

Everyone keeps talking about all these broads around their horizons. But does it get them a date? If one is on a mission, to date, then you should sign up for as many dating sites as you can remember to visit. Then as the universe expands, you go with it. |

This is the only site I'm on. But, it's been suggested to me that I try other sites as well. Besides Mingle, what sites have you tried and did you like them? Oh I am so excited, a question I can help with. Hang on dearie, let me get my list out... ... I know you know the big ones, POF, E-Har, and Match, all pay and all not good. Tagged is a fun, free social site, games and such, but in my area thats where I was contacted by the most creeps, looking for hookups and FWB's. Not for me. Some are guys pay and gals talk free, I think Cupid is one of those sites, but again in my area, the pool is empty of guys. They used to have a nice blogging feature. Yahoo personals, Mate 1, Priceless partners.com, Love Vine, Bikerplanet, Wink, American Singles, True, PerfectMatch, Yournextdate and Date, all dot coms were a waste of time and money. I don't even know if this last one is still in existance, Imatchup, Its where I met the first guy ever in person and he lived in Oregon, but we had to go through some goofy things to contact each other. You can send cards to people you are interested in, with messages, but you had to be very clever in getting your other regular email addy to them otherwise they blocked the addy. |

You know, we live in a time when the
universe is available to us. We must take advantage of that. For daters, it brings it right to your doorstep. The mate of your dreams, just within reach. Miles are nothing, anymore. But, from my own experience, you can get to know people pretty freaking well when you have something like here, the forums. It is like animated 'Wanted' posters :-) |

You can use POF just fine without paying. I wouldn't really recommend the site, though. Okcupid is free for everyone. |

I used to be on several dating sites...probably still am but haven't gone back in years.
The others seem like people are only looking for hook ups (here too but not as much IMO) and the forums are awful. A lot of other sites are nothing but drama and nasty, hateful posts. We get those here from time to time, but even Jerry Springer wouldn't touch those other sites lol. I have met several guys from here in the past (not looking now) Not many people in someone's location can vary. There are plenty of guys in my area and age range, but on other sites, maybe not as many. Just as there might not be many in your area here but there are in other sites. I wouldn't trade Mingle for any other site |

I wouldn't trade Mingle for any other site I'm willing to bet there are just as many here looking for hookups as any other site. That's awesome that there are many people in your area on here. Unfortunately, it isn't that way in many other places. I have met people here, but none of them have been local. That just doesn't work for me these days. When I say I want to date, I actually want to go out and meet people and go on dates. I don't want to chat on here all the time. The forums are great, though. |

That's awesome that there are many people in your area on here. There might be. Like I said, I just haven't had the problem as much Unfortunately, it isn't that way in many other places. I have met people here, but none of them have been local. That just doesn't work for me these days. When I say I want to date, I actually want to go out and meet people and go on dates. I don't want to chat on here all the time. The forums are great, though. Well I'm not here to date right now anyway so the dating part doesn't bother me. But I have plenty of guys in my area. If I went to another site, I might not have as many. It can vary with locations from site to site, as I explained. |
