Then, once again, SMS asserted - even more directly this time - that I was somehow off-topic with the conversation. This was the third time around this block. So I tried to point out that she was reading something into the discussion that was never present. Now here we are, 3 or 4 pages past that point, and SMS is still claiming that I was in the wrong after I agreed to let the matter drop. Just stating the facts here, and nothing more. My last comment was not directed at you or anyone specifically. Both Bushidobillyclub and MariahsFantasy said they over analyze things. I pointed out my only issue that has to do with people who tend to over analyze. For some reason, you take anything I say personally and as an insult. It's like you're looking for things that could possibly offend you. Please stop doing that and just enjoy the forums.

Nope they should dress in tutu's and dance like girls OMG! I had this exact same thought when I saw the thread earlier!! Except I thought "pink tutus".

We had some of our military guys dress in pink tutus and do the the dance of which they called it "The sugar plump fairy." Yep, I said plump as these three gentlemen were and that is what they wanted to be announced as. We put on a concert for the Veteran's food bank and I was trying to play clarinet when they were dancing. Needless to say; I couldn't play a note as I was laughing so hard. They took the biggest guy of the three and the other two were trying to lift him and all you could hear was them groaning as they tried to lift him. At that point; the whole band stopped playing as everyone just lost it. It was funny but brought in a lot of food for the Veteran's food bank.

Some women are more butch than guy are so, I just take it on an individual basis. So, are you saying because a woman can do what is traditionally a man's job; she is butch? No...I am saying when a woman has a wallet, rolls her own tampons and has a mullet....she is butch. My Uncle Beccy is as butch as they come. I love that gal but she got more testosterone than I do.

Its not the 'man' who makes contact/asks for date, but the one with 'masculine energy'. So being confident, assertive, and knowing what you want is masculine? Yes. Surely you realise that women have these traits, so it is not because they are a man, but their comfort with using masculine energy. It doesnt mean a woman is mannish, or butch, just that she is comfortable with masculine energy. Just like nurturing is feminine energy. You realise that there are men who are quite comfortable with using feminine energy, and nurture their children for example. And some women, alternatively, are not. Really? So it isn't feminine to know what you want or be confident about yourself? I have to believe that not everyone thinks that way. I have a hard time believing that it is not masculine to nurture your children. Maybe I'm just lucky but I know a lot of really good dads out there.... I actually think that X chromosome influences nurturing, and men have it but women have twice as much, so tend to be more 'naturally' and instinctively nurturing That just doesn't support what I know to be true. I think men are equally good nurturers - adn TBH - nuthin's gonna change my mind on that one just call me a stubborn biotch that would be quite manly of me,, I dont call females that,,,lol

There is no doubt that popular culture has memes and one of these memes is big strong masculine men, and gender roles associated with the traditions of our societies. I think however what is really more important to think about is if there is really any fundamental, native, or genetic disposition toward certain roles? I think not, I think human beings are so based in learned behaviors that almost every single role we fulfill has far more to do with how we are raised, and what expectations are placed upon us by our parents/cultures than any physiological aspects. yes that is why I think men can also nurture children. I mean that's pretty 80s - not really a new social phenom.... I think thats true too. I think behavior and interests are learned throughout life, but I also think there is a genetic factor which makes 'predisposition' to certain behaviors and interests more prominent in some than in others,,,

There has actually been research on that sorta stuff. I took my kid to the toystore and he picked a dollhouse once. I was so excited. When we got home he took out the beds and put the little people in them and proceeded to 'drive' them around as if they were cars, then he 'parked' them back in the dollhouse. Awwwwwww!!
