Topic: YOU GOTTA SEE THIS! | |
---|---|
Most of you have heard that on May 22 an EF5 tornado ripped through Joplin, MO demolishing 30% of this town including many churches, schools, businesses and homes. 161 lives were lost. This is MY hometown. On Friday, January 13, Extreme Makeover Home Edition will air their 200th and final episode. It is the building of 7 homes in 7 days in our town. Although I don't watch the show much myself, I would love it if you could take the time to watch this ONE episode. I'm not sure how much of the damage they will show, but I want everyone to understand that through it all....WE WILL SURVIVE and come back stronger than ever!!!!!

I'll watch it. My sister's boyfriend's mother lived there. It was a terrible tragedy. Also some of the people I work with had family there, so I will pass the word to them as well
Tragedies do make people and communities stronger in many cases as you said, so I am sure it not only will be overcome, but the town will return grander and more beautiful than ever. |

I will hook up an antenna and I will watch that! (I haven't watched television in years)
I always cry at (Extreme makeover:Home edition) I am not even kidding. I can't watch it with some one in the room. I cry like a little gir with an owwie. Chin up Liz Horrible things pass.....like everything does. The guys who do that show are amazing but, they always focus on the needs of the people that they surprize. |

More power to you and the people of your town. i watch Extreme Home Makeover weekly; they have such an impact on the communities they get involved in. May the positive energy continue to flow even after their building projects are completed.
I, too, cry every episode, Krupa. Difference being that my 5 year old son cries with me... Being human is a gift. |

I also cry when watching that show. The show helps out so many people that realy need the help. My hat goes off to the producers of that show. And to everybody that takes a part it each week.
And my heart goes out to all the people in Joplin. I do have faith that you people WILL bounce back. Prayers to you all. |

The few times I have watched this show, it has brought a tear to my eyes as well. However, I will probably cry like a baby watching this episode b/c it is my home, my heart, my everything.

I already planned on watching it, myself. I know I'll end up crying like a baby too. They've been to Oklahoma three times, and twice they were close enough to me, where I could go and volunteer.
Everything they do is just amazing. |
